Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

Re: Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

Gotta be-Inglourious Basterds-Just saw this for the first time a few weeks ago.

"Oh, Toddy, if I have to strap down my bosoms for the next twenty years they're gonna wind up looking like two empty wallets."

"Victor/Victoria"

Here we go:
"Picture a girl who took a nosedive from the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down."

Saving Private Ryan??

Correct. One of the worst Oscar miscarriages of all time that it didn't win Best Picture. The landing sequences were shattering. As realistic as possible without actually killing people. The scene that will always stand out in my mind is when General Marshall starts reading Lincoln's letter to Mrs. Bixby. It becomes evident that he's quoting it from memory.

He says: "If the boy's alive, we're going to send somebody to find him. And get him the h**l. . .out of there."

I love that scene in Inglourious, btw. :)

My quote then....

I don't remember a time when I didn't want to be a police officer... apart from the summer of 1979 when I wanted to be Kermit the Frog. It all started with my Uncle Derek. He was a Sergeant in the Met. He bought me a police pedal car when I was five. I rode around in it every second I was awake - arresting kids twice my size for littering and spitting. I got beaten up a lot when I was young, but it didn't stop me. I wanted to be like Uncle Derek.

You guys need a hint?? I would have thought that this one would have been pretty easy, as it was a pretty hot movie.

"Nobody thinks in terms of human beings. Governments don't. Why should we?"

The Third Man-spoken by Orson Welles' character harry Lime. Thanks for one from my era:)

" You came to this house as wedding guests. Fire and death are your gifts to my bride. For all that I do against you now, I shall be blameless. I'll give you back fire for fire, and death for death!"

The theme from "The Third Man" is one of the two or three greatest movie themes ever. I read someplace three different versions rose to #1 on the charts.

Anyway, the quote is from "Sampson and Delilah," which was on TMC just a couple of days ago. Try this one:

"YOU'VE BLEEPED WITH THE WRONG PERSON! My husband does business with the Mafia! When they track you down, you, your entire family, everyone you ever KNEW will all get chainsaw enemas!"

Ruthless People-funny movie on cable just this week again.
(was there ever a better body than Anita Morris??)

"When a girl is under 21, she's protected by law. When she's over 65, she's protected by nature. Anywhere in between, she's fair game. Look out."

Hint: this one was to honor a recently departed star. A great, funny movie.

I've not ever seen a Tony Curtis movie - my answer was just a best guess. So I had to google it just now. So I am officially disqualified :D
