Re: Student section and profanity in your school's arena

It's hard to get a big amount of students to a game when your student population is only 2000 students.
Numbers wise, Merrimack doesn't have a lot of students at the games compared to schools like BC and BU...but percentage wise we blow them out of the water! We have around 500 students attend the games. We had 600 attend the BU game. That's more than 1/4 of the ENTIRE student population.
last year during senior night (or the night before) we played over the PA system the Russian anthem for Uryadov.
Explain how they are skewed. 600/2000=30%
on top of that unlike other schools students cannot get tickets in advanced. You get your ticket at the door when you present your ID. So, all the 600 tickets went and therefore there 600 students at the game.
Was it a misuse of statistics, possibly you could make that argument. But the statistics are certainly not skewed.
30% of merrimacks students attended that game.

unlike your school, we cannot fit our entire student population into our building - in fact our student population is nearly 5 times that of agganis' capacity. thus, your use of percentages as a meaningful statistic when enrollment sizes are vastly different makes that statistic skewed and thus irrelevant.
Jesus, take it somewhere else. Was it a misuse of statistics, possibly you could make that argument. But the statistics are certainly not skewed.

Jesus, take it somewhere else.
However, the band was told last year to stop saying "a**hole," so our director suggested replacing it with "brass pole" or "casserole". That lasted a game or two before we simply reverted back and, from what I've heard, they haven't said anything about it again this year.
YAGER HATE NUMBERS! YAGER SMASH!Jesus, take it somewhere else.
Just making sure everyone saw this. It doesn't happen often.you're right.
Yes DD offered to build an arena. Yes Merrimack turned them down. It had to do with a multitude of problems including: environmental and town by-law limitations and merrmack's food services contract with Sodexo. I'm sure there were more like wanting to keep the name lawler. But that could have been circumnavigated by doing something like lawler rink at the dd arena.
