Behind You
This thread is intended to be a discussion of all things SNC Men's Hockey. From potential recruits, future schedules, to the new rink and SNC history. Anything SNC-related belongs right here! I'll start this thread off by asking a question: Who do you think will be scheduled for our last non-conference game in the 2024-25 season? If you look closely at the 23-24 schedule, you'll notice that they only played twenty four regular season games. Who do you think will fill that last game, if anyone? Personally, I'm betting on either a conference non-conference game or Superior in a home and home rotation for the 25-26 season. Maybe there'll be twenty four again. Who knows?

I think the relatively last minute addition of Dubuque shuffled up their schedule and made it difficult to fill the final slot. An extra quality non-conference win could have helped them quite a bit in the pairwise. Hopefully they can get an east region opponent on the schedule next year.

For sure. I don't think they'll be able to schedule an eastern team this coming year though, with the home and home arrangement with St. Olaf and Bethel. In order to maintain a twenty-five game schedule, they'd need to cut a game, or perhaps an entire series (maybe with UW-Eau Claire?) in order to schedule out east. This is because, well, why travel all that way for one game? I don't know. I like seeing SNC play eastern teams for variety's sake.

They'll have a 25 game schedule next season for sure. This was the first season since '14-'15 that they only had 24, and that year they dropped a NC game vs Gustavus in order to be able to play, err. scrimmage, err. 'joint practice' with UW-Madison.

To UW-Madison it was a "joint practice", at least how'd they like us to remember it. Crazily enough, I was actually at that game, as I have connections within SNC administration and I was able to get a pass.

I'm sure they'll get twenty five this year, the question on my mind is... who?

Three new recruits to bump this thread with... first, goaltender Collin Lemanski. He posted a .936 Save %, along with a GAA of 2.29 and 2 shutouts for the Wausau Cyclones of the NA3HL. Welcome to SNC!

The second player to announce a commitment to St. Norbert is forward Blake Ulve. He produced 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points in 57 games for the North Iowa Bulls of the NAHL. It should also be pointed out that he will be reunited with former Bulls Dombrowsky and Hartley. He was also the captain of the Bulls for the 23-24 campaign. According to the commitment article, he was on the Bulls' top power play and penalty kill lines. This leads me to believe that he's going to step into the role of a "two hundred foot player", replacing the departing Will Stromp. Welcome to SNC!

The third and most recent commitment is defenseman Jack Christen. He tallied 7 goals and 13 assists for 20 points in 59 games between the Odessa Jackalopes and Chippewa Steel of the NAHL. He replaces the departed Jordan Strand. Welcome to SNC!

To be perfectly clear, I have not seen any of these players play live, all I have done is look at their EP page and whatever video I could find. If anyone viewing this thread has seen either three of these players live, I would appreciate a description of their playing style. I make no claims to accuracy in regards to playing style, as it is just what little I could glean.

Two things.

former SNC player Patrick McCadden ‘14 named GB Gamblers head coach

packers foundation donated $200k for Cornerstone addition.

Apologies for the lack of updates. Plenty has happened since my last post. First of all, the new rink has officially broken ground! Second of all, we have our fourth commitment! Ethan Byrne produced 16 goals and 23 assists while playing for the Mercer Chiefs of the NCDC. Something interesting to note about Byrne is the breakout in production from 22-23 to 23-24. In 22-23, he furnished 21 goals and 28 assists for 49 points in 39 games. The significance of this lies in the fact that he played in a Tier 3 league during the 22-23 season. He went from that production in Tier 3 to averaging a point per game in a Tier 2 league. Welcome to SNC!

Third of all, the schedule has been released. They have that 25th game and it's against... Stout. Haven't played them since 2012-2013.

Also, according to St Norbert's roster page, we have added a D1 transfer... goalie Grant Adams. He posted an .844 save percentage in two games with St. Lawrence in the 23-24 season. Before St. Lawrence, he played his junior hockey with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL, posting an .897 save percentage in 19 games. He also played in nine games with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the BCHL, with a save percentage of .904. Welcome to SNC!

Very rare (but not unheard of) for SNC to roster 4 goalies. Roberts had multiple years of D1 backup experience too. Garvey is our guy, but backup options never hurt.
