St. Norbert 2013-14 - a new mountain to climb on the way back to the top

Re: St. Norbert 2013-14 - a new mountain to climb on the way back to the top

Yes. This is the first year that students are admitted free. Considering the cost and distance from campus it was always impressive that SNC got the 200 or so students per game that they did.

It's never too late to do the right thing.

Students got free t-shirts with the schedule on them, too

Re: St. Norbert 2013-14 - a new mountain to climb on the way back to the top

That is great the students get in for free... should always be that way for all sporting events nit just hockey.. :) also would be nice if the parents and spectators could purchase that t-shirt.. along with having more SNC clothing to purchase at the games.

Re: St. Norbert 2013-14 - a new mountain to climb on the way back to the top

Will this be for every game or just the first game as they did last year?
I understand that it will be free admission for all reg season games for SNC students..Not sure about the playoffs..

That is the way it has always worked at Norwich. Sometimes the admin has kicked in to buy playoff tickets for students as well. (League and NCAA rules dictate the price of student tickets and that price is not "free")

Students pay an activity fee at Plattsburgh that includes admission to home athletic events during the regular season

Yes, sort of a "use it - or - loose it" approach.

Re: St. Norbert 2013-14 - a new mountain to climb on the way back to the top

I wonder why kids today have to be lured to sporting events. For the most part student sections have been greatly reduced in quantity and volume over the years. I guess kids just prefer to do other things or are just plain lazy. I think it's a bit of both to be honest. For instance, Plattsburgh's home attendance is comprised of about 85% locals. This is in sharp contrast to say 20 years ago when it was at least 50-50.

Now, if we served beer.....(see Utica) obviously the environment would change !!

I think that you nailed the reason with the last statement. $20 in your pocket to the local establishments or a sporting event. I think that we all know the answer to this mystery.

Weekend preview: SNC @ Finlandia..

I will miss this first ever series, due to my nephew's wedding in Madison....
who schedules weddings on weekends during the hockey season??

Pete,

Why don't you just temporarily disown him until hockey season is over?

When I was in High School kids used to do that around Christmas and Birthdays to avoid buying gifts, then resume the relationship once the event has passed. ;)

See you guys at the CCC tonight!

Re: St. Norbert 2013-14 - a new mountain to climb on the way back to the top

Uh oh. SNC is back, again
Statement game by SNC tonight....Period 1 was pretty even....Knights took control in the 2nd, with four goals.
Really like the "crashing the net" strategy tonight...all five goals scored within 10 -- 12 ft of the goal mouth.
Keep it rolling..Stout tomorrow nite and Eau Claire again next Wed nite on the road and than CSS in Wausau next Sat..

Agreed. None of the goals (well, except for Eau Claire's first goal) were particularly pretty. Just hard work, getting a stick on a puck down low and putting it home.

After watching the Blugolds relentlessly pushing the puck up the ice last year, they didn't do that very well tonight. A solid win.

Re: St. Norbert 2013-14 - a new mountain to climb on the way back to the top

Wow did EC lay an egg. I guess we will see if SNC is really back Weds. night. 2 assists to the refs, 3 to the Blugolds D. I hope the Knights play Jacobson again, and the real Blugolds show up. Good win tonight SNC!

I watched a bit of this one. I don't understand why you are handing out assists to the refs or to your National Champion returning D-corps? Your team had more PP time and were 0 for 6. Your second goal was put in by an SNC defenseman. The shots were 32-17. No need to start passing blame. SNC was the better team tonight. EC may be the better team in their barn. At any rate, just give credit where it is due.
