St. Lawrence University 2013-2014: Carey, Carey, carry us to Placid ... And beyond?

Re: St. Lawrence University 2013-2014: Carey, Carey, carry us to Placid ... And beyon

Arguably one of the best games I have seen the Saints play this season was our win over Harvard earlier in the year. I hope the boys can regroup, put last night behind them and do what they did at Bright.
In that game we really were fast, hustling all over the ice, had a great fore check going and kept Harvard pent up the whole game. Harvard is playing better so it is going to take a 100% effort. Go Saints!

Wow! We win that and we are in good position to move up to 5th or 6th. Now we are destined for 11th or 12th to end up on the road against Cornell, Clarkson or Yale probably. There's always next season.

I don't know what else to say. That feels like rock bottom and we have had it and view most of this season.

You guys will be just fine. Of what I've seen of you guys it's apparent you play to the level of the opponent. You can beat q and union but lose to Dartmouth. Just gotta play all the good teams in the playoffs ;)

Getting ranked 11th or 12th will help with that endeavor ;)

Texted Tim today that, while I'm all for being gracious hosts, can't we leave that to the sorority girls instead of laying down at Appleton?

Re: St. Lawrence University 2013-2014: Carey, Carey, carry us to Placid ... And beyon

Upon reflection of last nights horror of a game I came to the conclusion that it didn't really hurt us too much. We are still tied with Brown and the team we play tonight Harvard for that 8th seed. Brown has Q-Pac on the road and we can take care of ourselves with a win. Yes I am sick of losing (who likes losing?), but we are going through transitioning with the program and it takes time. We still have a shot at turning this season around, a long shot, but a shot non the less. If we can put tomorrow behind us as one bad game and continue to build upon the momentum from the Q-Pac game then we can work towards Lake Placid. I mean what more of a goal to work towards than ECAC Championship weekend and this year it's close to home! I'm trying to be more positive I guess ... How am I doing? ;) :D

Re: St. Lawrence University 2013-2014: Carey, Carey, carry us to Placid ... And beyon

A much better effort tonight. Too bad the result wasn't better. Thought the team had more jump and hustle tonight........just couldn't get a couple of more pucks past Michalek who played well.
Was certainly hoping for a home sweep and we only came away with a single point. I suppose that is better than nothing, but, the way this season has gone it has been up, down, down, up, down. Last four games are all difficult one's.

At least you guys got one point this weekend. :(

Yeah Vic, that was a tough weekend over in Potsdam. I'm guessing the Capitol District teams are licking their chops with both of us headed their way next weekend.

Judging by the lack of posts here after last nights game.....it appears the reality of a losing season has set it. Looks like instead of passion, the team has inspired apathy instead.

I think you're right. I had all sorts of witty things to say after the game, but I'm honestly just burnt out with disappointment. I guess the only good thing about being constantly disappointed is that it means anything good to come will be a pleasant surprise :p

Not sure if it's apathy or some fans being burned out. Friday's game just depressed the living daylights out of me and I felt zero energy after watching it. Then, I posted that fans deserve better, and we certainly got it on Saturday. The Saints played with passion, back-checked like there was no tomorrow, and gave it 150%. If you can call a tie satisfying, it was - and it sure beats shootouts (most 'ole farts like me don't like them:)).

Plan to be at both games down in this neck of the words this weekend but have absolutely no clue what to expect. That total lack of consistency is frustrating and personally burns me out. Being a die-hard fan is great but it can be "work" at times. LOL!

Looking forward to making the trip to the Capital District this coming weekend. Hope the Saints bring their A game!

Technically, they have brought their 'A' game every weekend. Problem has been it has just been one sixty minute game spread out over 120 minutes. I hope they have four "We have something to prove" games left in them for the final four RS games and then "I don't want my season / careers to end" games for all 10 games after that.

Taggart Corriveau, a '97 forward from Westminster Prep, has committed. Gotta think he is still a little ways out though from showing up. Maybe showing up in '16? Scary thought there.

Abysmal to Awesome every weekend from the North Country. :( :)

You were lucky that you missed CCT's game on Saturday. As an aside, is this the first time EVER that Dartmouth swept the NC? I sure as heck can't remember if it was.

I don't remember the year, but only a couple of years ago Dartmouth swept the North Country road trip. If I remember correctly they beat both of us rather handily both games

Yes, he is for 2016 but looks to be another good sign. He is a big kid already at 6'1", has some USA Hockey experience, has been turning heads according to USHR and is a RW that can evidently score some goals. We need to keep signing studs. Good for Hurley and Mayo putting the snag on another good young player.

Surprisingly, Dartmouth is something like 5-1 at Appleton in the last 6 years so I would be surprised if they have only swept the NC once recently.

Just looked it up - November 2010. 7-1 @ Cheel, 6-1 @ Appleton. Until last weekend, those goals were the last goals Dartmouth had scored at Cheel.
