St. Lawrence & Clarkson @ RPI & Union (2/5, 2/6)

Re: St. Lawrence & Clarkson @ RPI & Union (2/5, 2/6)

Very impressive.

She was there with myself and another doc. Peole around us were very edgy watching her contractions-but she felt safe being with 2 docs. Left the HFH and went straight to Albany Medical Center where my daughter was born about 14 hours later-daughter is ow 39 years old this past december. A truly great game against an incredibly good Clarkson team who outshot us by double digits.

"Confirmed as laziness. . . ." Could maybe a couple of those bandies suit up as D-men Friday night? You know, just as an experiment.

Well, in the spirit of experimentation, I would suit up as Puckman... I am in skating shape this winter. ;)

post 2001... a space odessy, or is that Addesa-y? :)

I'd really like to see Union rebound this weekend and get 3 or 4 points. If we get swept or only get 1 point this weekend, I may start to head into panic mode. As people have already said, things at the top are very tight so every game counts.

Re: St. Lawrence & Clarkson @ RPI & Union (2/5, 2/6)

Dear Union,

Please beat Clarkson so you keep the common opponents comparison with MSU (you're 6-1-1 and they're 5-1-1, so even a tie gives it to them), thus denying them a PWR win and keeping them from jumping ahead of Cornell.

Thanks!

Great...more pressure to win.
Given the last couple of weeks, the boys are probably gripping the stick real tight. They're feeling the weight of the world right now. Starting out strong and on the edge of something really good but they're just having a tough time following through. Let's hope they go out this weekend and play like earlier in the season...just for you guys at Lynah ;)

Well, if there's any cure for that, it should be playing Clarkson. They have nothing going on, and this is the time of year that teams with nothing going on start to think about throwing in the towel and trying again next year. :(

I'm sure Union will do what it can to accomodate the Big Red, however, they will then owe us ;) . I don't really think Cornell will need much help unless they have an epic collapse which I certainly don't foresee.

As far as Union this weekend, I don't rule anything in or out. This league is just too freaky. I think the key to Union getting back on track is to reignite the top line. Hardly any team can succeed without their no. 1 trio firing on all cylinders and the past few weeks they have been MIA at least on the score sheet. I have a feeling this might be a comeback weekend for them, they just have too much talent to be kept down for long, at least I hope that to be the case.

I'm also counting on the Troy boys softening up the competion for us on the Saturday night showdown with SLU. That's MY game plan, anyway.

I can never forget that 3-3 tie with Clarkson. My wife(at the time) went into labor at the end of the second period. We stayed for the end of the game though. We RPI fans are tough!!
Does your daughter have dual citizenship??

If Union's going to make a PWR comeback, they need to A) start winning, and B) really, really, really, really need RPI as a TUC.

EDIT: RPI becoming a TUC, as applied to the current PWR situation, flips Union's comparisons with UMass-Lowell and UNH to the Dutchmen's favor, injecting them right back into the discussion.

And this is exactly why it's called a "trap game". Clarkson has nothing to lose these days, whereas they probably know Union is pressing. Clarkson could easily catch Union looking ahead to SLU, though I don't see Nate Leaman as the type of coach to let that happen. This game is just as big as Saturday's, IMO.

Thank you. I tried to make this point a few weeks ago when someone (I honestly don't remember who) tried to "put to bed" the idea of Union falling out of the top 4. At that point, there were still 12 games left to play. I've watched this league (and this team) for far too long to assume Union would keep up the pace and easily finish with a first-round bye.

As for the number 1 line, I think Walters-Pres-MVT have been playing well and putting pressure on the opposition, but just not scoring. They went from being on fire to doing nothing to now doing everything right but scoring.

If there's ever a time for RPI to wear someone down & beat them up, this would be it.
