Oklahoma beat Clemson 9-2 at Marita Hynes Field to tie the NCAA record for longest winning streak at 47 and moving the Sooners a win-away from their seventh consecutive Women's College World Series appearance.
The victory tied the Sooners with 1996-97 Arizona for the longest winning streak in NCAA history.

That streak is in trouble right now. Their 4-0 lead in the 4th is now a 7-4 deficit after 5.

Edit: Also, they just said it was Clemson's fourth year as a program. I thought I misheard it, but after looking it up, that's exactly what they said. First year as a program was the Covid season so they got in about 25 games before it was canceled and then immediately found success the next year going 44-8 and making the NCAA tournament. They've made Super Regionals the last two years, so a as a program they've made the tournament every year they've been able to qualify.

Wow, OU was down 7-4 with a runner on first, two outs. Bloop single to right with two strikes puts runners on first and second. Next batter is down 0-2 and hits a three run homer to tie it up at 7. Clemson can still take it here in the bottom of the 7th, but for now the streak is alive.

Don't spoil it for me, watching my Texas girls in their second game right now. Lost the first one, need to win this one to stay alive, not starting off very well.

Started following Texas after their coach Mike White left Oregon for them. Oregon already eliminated.

My other team, Florida State already punched their ticket.

Despise Oklahoma with a passion. Them, and UCLA.

1-Oklahoma, 3-Fla St, 4-Tenn, 6-Ok St, 7-Wash, 9-Stanford have all advanced.
4-San Diego St/15-Utah 2PM and 5-Alabama/12-Northestern 4PM(both on ESPN)winners advance.

Like to see Stanford win it. Doubt it could happen but we'll see. The coach there used to be at Minnesota and was a mentor to one of my daughter's softball coaches. She's a great person. I wish her alma mater had never come calling and she was still here. Our current coach deserved her shot though and did some clinic work with my daughter so I have a lot of respect for her as well.

Outta that group, the only ones I can stomach are You-Dub and Northeastern.

Neither will make it far.

Starts Thursday

Game 1: No. 4 Tennessee (49-8) vs. No. 5 Alabama (45-20), Noon on ESPN

Game 2: No. 1 Oklahoma (56-1) vs. No. 9 Stanford (45-13), 2:30 p.m. on ESPN

Game 3: No. 3 Florida State (55-9) vs. No. 6 Oklahoma State (46-14), 7 p.m. on ESPN

Game 4: No. 7 Washington (43-13) vs. No. 15 Utah (42-14), 9:30 p.m. on ESPN

Stanford stays alive in the 'fixed' bracket sending Alabama packing. I believe they'll play the team that doesn't win todays Tenn/OK game on Sunday. On the other side OK St awaits todays Wash/Fla St loser(such a harsh word but it is what it is)in Sunday's other elimination game.

Other way around for Sunday's games. OK St will be playing Tenn, Stanford gets the other one.

Spectacular play to end the Washington/Florida St. game, with two on and the winning run at the plate.

Hunt down the video if you wish.

Stanford gets another crack at Oklahoma in the semis tomorrow starting at noon. They gotta win twice to advance to the finals and that's a tall order.
