Whomever is doing the live blog of the game for the WSJ, he is highly critical of the US for not putting someone in front of the net on the power play:

Not sure why the U.S. has been so tentative on putting guys in the crease. There is zero physical play in this game.

U.S. is just getting smothered on the power play. They’re playing a conventional game of pass between your defensemen and trying to set something up, but Canada is stepping up to forecheck and get in the way. A team of elite players shouldn’t be catching passes with their gloves while on the power play, but USA just did.

The US is gonna need one heck of a turnaround in the 3rd. They are just, flat out, not good enough right now.

Sustained possession of the puck and sustained pressure in the offensive zone by the USA have been rare. I hope that changes and leads to a goal.
