SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

How many SNC fans are staying at the Residence Inn at the Depot? Tina set aside a block of rooms. There must be something close to there that could be a good meeting place. It is three and a half miles from Ridder though.

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Staying at the Radisson downtown Minny about 4-5 miles away with a number of other SNC followers. Taxi service after car is parked will be the mode of transport.

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

I know myself, and at least four other fans/families staying at The Depot..........my family is catching both games Friday, so depending on outcome Friday evening as to post game activities!
and after viewing parking at Ridder, I agree cab will be our way to get there once we park at the hotel!

Parking is not that bad. If the lots or ramp right by Ridder are full, you can go down
the street a block or so and there is parking around Mariucci Arena (where the men play).

That said... If you have a cold beverage or two before... the cab is a good way to go.

What types of places are on the way from the depot to Ridder? Is there shops, businesses, bars ...?

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

I'm making the trip with 3 others in the car. I have heard that some former players are looking making the trip as well. I think the SNC Faithful will represent in large numbers. I hope Ridder looks like Cornerstone West. It should be a great weekend of hockey!

If anyone is looking for a dinner spot, I highly recommend The Rock Bottom Brewery. Good eats and a long list of beers to pick from. Whenever I was out there for business, that was the restuarant of choice.

Regarding Saints17, I volunteered to pick him up from any airport he could fly in to; Appleton, Green Bay, or Minneapolis... I met him last year at Zig Zag's and we've kept in touch ever since. That is the beauty of D 3 hockey; a small group of passionate fans that love the game for the game. I can't wait to meet more of you. See you out there!

Is Saints17 making the trip?!?!

He said that he wasn't going to be able to make it. I told him to find the cheapest flight and I would transport him, but it doesn't sound like he can make it work. Too bad...he owes me a beer ;)

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Thanks guys for your interest. However I won't be able to make the trip this year. Oddly enough a few of the SUNYAC beauties asked me if "we" were going. As if I am their dad or something.
Mojo-next year that beer will be returned. ;)

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Stub and Herbs is across University Ave. from the football stadium and has a good selection of beers (changes monthly) and good food, too. It's probably about 2 1/2 blocks from the Ridder. There's a Buffalo Wild Wings right across from the Mariuchi, but it's not as interesting.

I just got the following email that was sent out to SNC alumni

Join us before the game!

Wear your green and gold and join us at Stub & Herb's for a pre-game social. It's just a short walk to the arena.

5 p.m.
Stub & Herb's
227 Southeast Oak Street, Minneapolis
No registration required
Which I could be there!

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

can u watch the frozen 4 games on the computer? also ik this is random but is the snc team sponsored? (Bauer etc) ? do they have good facilities?

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Section 13 row 7. They look almost identical to the seats I normally have the Cornerstone.
Just got a call from the ticket office. I'll be joining a bunch of you in Section 12 because I guess my original seats had a partially obstructed view because of a pole.

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

There are some, depending on which route you take. If you go on Washington the entire way, there are West Bank bars and restaurants on your way to the Ridder. Dinkytown is near the Ridder and is a large University hang out. There are local restaurants there like Mesa Pizza, Al's Breakfast, Annie's (burgers), and chains like Five Guys, Potbelly, McDonalds, Subway, etc. The West Bank of campus has Chipotle, Noodles, Quiznos and bars.

If you go over the 3rd Ave. Bridge or the Hennepin Bridge, you'll go through part of the Northeast neighborhood. They have a few chain restaurants (Chipotle, Breuggers Bagels, Panera) and local places like the Bulldog (bar/restaurant), GingerHop, and Brasa.

For shopping, downtown is nice and expensive. :) Otherwise, go to Bloomington/MOA. On the weekend, the Mall is probably 20 min. from downtown.

Despite it being the most overrated establishment in the galaxy, I will also add that there is a new Buffalo Wild Wings just a few blocks west of Ridder -- right where 4th splits off University Ave. if you're headed west.

I just had a follow-up call from the Residence Inn, 11 rooms were reserved by SNC fans; they will try to issue rooms near each other; I also requested an early check-in at 1pm, so if you are interested in that just call ahead and they will make note in your reservation.
