SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

I dont want it to seem like I'm complaining though, they are 17-3-1. Maybe just expecting too much :)

althought Oz has a few scorers, we are not getting the blow-outs like last yr, and my nails are paying for it.......

yes, most close wins come because the team is good and a little bit is luck of the puck. Eventually luck runs out and they are getting to the time of year where it cant run out.

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

I'll go for a rematch with same results. ;)

ill go for the rematch as well, and yea a bounce here or there is what seems to make the diffference when you have such evenly matched teams like last yrs Final 4

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

They are in an interesting spot. Usually when you are in a position to wrap up a title in your 4th from last game you figure you are probably on a roll and are worrying about how sharp they'll end up being when they go 3 full weeks without playing a truly meaningful game. However, I'd have a hard time saying they really have a ton of momentum right now and I'm hopeful the best is yet to come. 17-3-1 hasn't come with many style points but it is 17-3-1. The bar has been raised so high here it is sometimes easy to get spoiled and forget that.

MW:

Agree with your thoughts with the exception that they have been sloppy and are not handling the basics right now i.e. passing tape to tape, beating the other man to the corner, trying to make an ESPN highlight goal by making an extra pass vs. shooting. I am not discouraged as they are playing well enough to be in 1st place with a title on the line this weekend and that 17-3-1 for the year is not an easy task. I just believe that they have to begin "stepping things up" as their play lately would not be enough in the playoffs. I am confident that they have much more in the tank with the talent and leadership that they have.

It seems to me that this team will be relying on the D and O'Brien to carry us as far as we go in the playoffs this season.
Expect a lot of close one -- two goal games.

It's been 129:01 since a Yellowjacket has lit the lamp and with UWS being the NCHA's top scoring offense (50 G in 14 games), look for that to change. Hopefully in a big way too with the next stop scheduled for CCC.

Saw Ryd now has 6 GWG, well done. Can someone say clutch?

Enjoy the game, I'll be listening.

Why is this posted on this thread? Anyway, don't forget that SNC has the number one D in the country.

Ryd is very talented and is 150% effort. He just does not quit!

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

That was a pretty good overall effort tonight over a quality opponent. Send the seniors out in style tomorrow and manufacture some motivation for the following weekend to keep themselves lined up for a Pool C just in case they stumble at home in one of the two playoff games. One thing I hope for tomorrow is to see Blake Bashor in net for at least a little while on Senior Night.

Update: Yellowjackets are scoreless in their last 189.1 minutes.

Which is unbelievable really. Having been at the UWS-UWRF game last weekend...I think it's more just bad luck than anything. SNC controlled pretty handily tonight but overall I don't think it's anything near panic time in The Soup.

Favreau and Astle have been injured but are expected back soon, perhaps by next weekend.

Normally I'm not a stickler for spelling, but your spelling of his name is just a little too close for comfort in this town these days. ;)

At least he spelled "Justin" right and didn't screw it up and say, oh maybe, "Bart".

We don't really care about your spelling -- it was obvious who you were talking about. It was just an easy out to make fun of Bert.
