SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

He had his wrist operated on again, as it wasn't healing properly after the first operation.
Expect him back in time for some conference action.
Who gets playing time on the blue line when he returns, as most of the D line has been playing very well?

The only person you could even think of sitting is McDonald, and that just because he is the least experienced of all the D men. Favreau shouldnt lose his job because of injury but, with him missing a number of games already this year McDonald may be the better fit for the rest of year?

I would agree that Favreau will start once he recovers.
Although, I believe, that the extra playing for McDonald has really allowed him to adapt quicker to the D-3 style of play.
Should help in the years to come with all of the D-men, we graduate after this season.

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Actually find it interesting our Sat game is NOT a 4pm start, guessing it had something to do with scheduling at the Cornerstone; even the Superior/Scholastica series coming up Feb 4/5 the Sat game is also a 7pm start.......
Enough people have blackberry or smart phones to keep tabs on the pack.....wouldn't dream of missing a conference game, even if it is just Eau Claire!

"Just" Eau Claire? The Blugolds have more quality wins than any team in the West Region at this point.

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

McDonald's play has been pretty decent and it should allow them not to feel the need to rush, but when Favreau is ready he'll be in the lineup. That change gives them a little more size on the blueline.

Eau Claire isn't a sexy matchup, but they are putting together a very solid season. Those aren't 4 easy points.

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Start times for Saturday's women's (2 p.m.) and men's (7 p.m.) games will remain the same despite the Packer game. There is a large youth tournament going on this weekend at the Cornerstone and times were unable to be switched.

no intention to offend, Eau Claire definitely not a bottom feeder at this point, sitting nicely in the middle of the pack............

Pete:

Interesting game last night. The 2nd period by SNC was horrible but the goal in the end of the 2nd seemed to spring board them into the 3rd where they outplayed UWEC. I thought the effort by Langford, Stroh, and Astle was very good and that UWEC did not have an answer for their size and strength on the boards. Going to be a terrible crowd tonight due to the Packer game conflict. I am betting on a crowd of 200. Your thoughts on the over under?

Will be lucky to top 200 tonite.
I will keep track of the Packer game from the CCC and get home in time to see the final 1 1/2 quarters, barring an overtime session.
I thought Langford had one of his best games of the season. A senior stepping up when it counts.
Good to see how the team responded in the 3rd period....dominated play for sure.

Right on with your thought on Langford. He may have played the puck better last night than any night in his SNC career. Nice to see from him. If he can set the tone with his physical play plus work the attack zone like he did last night for the rest of the year only great things will come.

Wouldn't it have made sense to swap slots?

I suspect that the fact that they play on different rinks also came into the equation. Did SNC want to move to Olympic ice against a speedy UWEC team? Probably not.

By the looks of it the over/under might have to be lowered to 100
