SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

They really puked one up tonight to a very poor team. I think Friday came a little too easy. Hopefully this will be a lesson learned.

Game report on the SNC victory over SJU last night.
I like the "smell the blood in the water" quote...

Pete:

SNC was clearly in control throughout. It was nice to see Soley and Keefer scoring as they both have the capacity to and should score more as they both are very good offensively. The Joanette line was outstanding and Martin gives me confidence in the future goaltending at SNC after O'Brien.

I would expect that we will see Ryd, Stroh, O'Brien, etc. tonight in a tune up game prior to getting back into the NCHA schedule next weekend vs. Eau Claire.
Would be nice to see the sharks buzzing the net again tonite!!

Press Gazette report from last nights game...practice player added...

Keefer is really starting to play well and scoring. The line of Keefer, Soley, and Joanette was outstanding all weekend. The line of Ryd, Pulak, and Longley was also very strong even through the score sheet does not show as much as they did. Next week, NCHA action back again!

I'd say that line is hot, with six goals and seven assists between them in this weekend's games!!!

Not surprising as you have two snipers on the outside and a center who can score and more importantly, see the ice well and pass off. Additionally, Keefer seems to have found his legs in the lattter half of the first semester and certainly the start of the second semester.

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Some outstanding puck movement deep in the attack zone last nite. To bad most of that movement didnt result in scoring though. Its good to know that they can make two or three great passes in a row around the net. Without a true sniper on the roster creativity will be needed in March.

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

A shame though that 20 couldnt stay out of the box at the end of game. Without a PP, the Cobbers were not a threat to score and that penalty probobly cost B.J. a shutout.

With the Packers playing Saturday night, we'll find out who the real SNC fans are.

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

Was Favreau a healthy scratch all weekend or is he hurt again?

He had his wrist operated on again, as it wasn't healing properly after the first operation.
Expect him back in time for some conference action.
Who gets playing time on the blue line when he returns, as most of the D line has been playing very well?

There is a TV in the lobby of the CCC.
I can actually almost see the picture from where I stand on top on the red line!!!

Re: SNC 2010-11 Regular Season Thread

They did everything well but finish on Friday night for the first two periods. The St. Johns goalie held them in it but the gates opened quickly.

On Saturday I liked the offense throughout but thought the defensive zone play was a little for most of the first period. The Cobbers were a little better than I thought they would be. St. Johns on Friday was probably the worst team I've seen in 2 or 3 seasons.

Love the Keefer/Joanette/Soley line all weekend. They may now have 2 lines they can really consider go-to lines. Stroh/Langford/and perhaps Hoogenboom could be a good mix.
