SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

I find it interesting that BTN took out the Ramage hit in the replays and only showed a couple of replays of it later in the game.
I thought, from the limited angles and views I saw that Ramage's shoulder hit Oliver in the face, so for me it looked like the correct call.
Andringa's call on Eddy "throwing himself into the boards" when Woods hit him was BS.
Yeah, Eddy was acting up a shoulder injury that may keep him out tonight.
Stay classy Rob.

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

By "UW," do you mean the University of Wisconsin? You're playing us? I mean, I've seen this thread all week, but I just assumed you meant UW River Falls or UW Baraboo Extension (Boo-U).

Aren't you guys ACHA or DIII? Are these games exhibitions or something?

Division I? Since when?

Really!?! Do you guys have any sort of legacy in Division I? Only one out of how many!?!
Oh... that's why I don't remember hearing about you before...

Huh, same conference for years now? No sh_t? Funny, you'd think I'd remember that, but if you say so.

Well, I guess someone better tell the other Badger posters about all this.

Game(s) on! :p

Wow. You are either clueless or lack any skill at sarcasm. Either way, what a lame post. Must be a closet loser goofer.

Then you later post in this thread a false representation in describing a hit by Aaron Marvin from many games ago. You're quite the source.

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

I was perplexed to say the least at Andringa's comments tonight. if Eddy knew Woods was coming he'd brace himself or move out of the way. I really don't know what Andringa was thinking and I normally really enjoy his insight and he was an excellent UW player, etc but jeez

Perplexed doesn't begin to accurately describe an objective impression left by the overall game statements made by that BTN commentator. I remember telling Frank Mazzoco and Doug Woog, separately face-to-face at Tom Reid's pub in St. Paul, how lame their homer coverage was in regards to goofer games. But this Andriga (sp?) guy took it to a whole new level last night.

Better descriptions would be "repulsive" or "embarrassingly painful."

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

Andringa is usually terrific but I think he let his frustration with how embarassing UW looked get the best of him on the Woods hit late in the game. I was so disappointed with how UW let the horrible officiating completely erode their composure following the easy missed call seconds before the 1st SC goal and the awful call on Ramage. Officiating that bad often heats things up because guys get frustrated but you still have to control what you can control. I think we find out tonight whether this group has any collective pride.

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

I have it on DVR, his shoulder hit him square in the face mask which is the head......

That's what I saw as well. Hit to the head is a hit to the head. Simple analysis. If that penalty had happened after the bush league hit on Lee behind the net or the CFB with intent to injure penalty by Woods, Rammage would also have been disqualified. Moreover, only fair to bench Woods and Rammage seeing that Oliver and Eddy may be out tonight.

Speaking of Woods, good to see he is a freshman. Next year he'll be wearing a target that screams "hit me" when he plays SCSU.

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

Can anyone tell me why Wisconsin sucks so bad this year? Did Menard's run out of Paint Thinner? Did the Wisconsin DOT start picking up all the road kill deer too fast? Oh, well, at least all their fans can go watch the women play, at least they seem to have a little pride left.

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

Andringa and Kelly were an embarrassment to UW, the Big Ten Network and college hockey.

This is what I saw as well - shoulder square in the facemask. If the face is part of the head (referencing Timothy A's post), it was a direct hit to the head. I don't think it was dirty - Ramage kept his arms in, stayed low, and there didn't appear to be any intent to make contact with the head, but it's obvious from the reply that there was.

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

I haven't seen a replay, but when I saw it live, I thought the hit was clean. Maybe merited a charging, but certainly not getting tossed. But whatever. It was called how it was called. The Badgers should have had more composure.

This is all I'm saying. I don't think it was a dirty play, but it sure as hell was a 5 minute major.

FTLT - Rabib was texting me about how they edited out the hit from the replay. Gee...I wonder if BTN did that to keep their announcers from looking like complete morons for the rest of the game. :p

Tell him to put down the crack pipe. I just watched the replay on Goon's world, and BTN showed a replay at least 5 times, once in slow-mo.

Andringa is probably a bit of a homer, but I usually enjoy his take on the games. He was pretty adamant about the hit being clean, and, after seeing a replay, I agree with him. Like I said before, however - it was called how it was called.

They edited the hit out of the live game action.
They took a break around the 730 mark and came back after the hit when the penalties were called.
They did show a replay a couple of times and I'm sorry, but Ramage hits Oliver in the face with his shoulder.
It wasn't dirty per se as I don't think Ramage was aiming for it, but it was by no means clean.

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

Big Ten Network announcing is atrocious. The ex-DU announcer guy and Rob Andringa both ought to find new occupations. I wanted to watch the game, but those two ruined it.

There is zero question that was contact to the head, and you're telling me that after multiple looks they both thought it was a clean hit? Shameful.

I think last night made it very apparent what's wrong with Wisconsin. Two guys got kicked out of the game for cheap shots. Mike Eaves type hockey!

What do you expect? Wisconsin announcers.

I'd like to know how they could have possibly edited it out of live game action. That would defy physics, wouldn't it?

Excuse me but are you a moron?
They showed replays well later in the game.
But when the hit happened in the game, i.e the live game action, BTN edited that part of the game out.

It's not the paint thinner. There's still plenty on hand, though I admit getting the real good stuff has been difficult since last year's super bowl. I don't think it can be attributed to a deer carcass shortage either. All the man-starved Minnesota girls on compus provide more than enough low hanging fruit.

Might just be shortage of talent.

Let me say this really slowly so you understand.

On the replay, they edited out a 3 minute chunk of the game where the actual hit happens.

What channel were you watching it on? Because BTN didn't edit it out of anything, they showed the replay five times at least.

Edit: oh, i see. You watched the game when they replayed it at midnight or whenever.
