SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

The UW crowd was ATROCIOUS for the Duluth series this year, and when they were getting stomped on Saturday they high-tailed it outta there. Duluth is having a great year, I can't even begin to imagine how crappy the crowd will be this weekend.

UW pulled 13,000 for UAA, so I think attendance is back to normal now.

Better be or there will be eleven Minnesotans REALLY ****ed!

"Aye Yai Yai Yai..."
From what I see on BTN, they're around, but they aren't very audible on TV.

I'll finally be going to a game this year tomorrow night, so I'll have to see for myself how bad the crowd noise/canned music is these days.

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

All I have to say is the Ramage hit was exactly like the Marvin hit from two years ago. Eaves said at that time those hits need to be taken out of the game. I don't want to hear any whinning about the hit after all the people on here said how cheap Marvin was. :D

For the record that has always been a clean hit. Back in my day if you hit a guy like that all they would say is you need to keep your head up. The game has changed so much with the guys being so much bigger and faster and hits like that are now being taken out of the game. Just like Defensive backs in football can longer hit a defenseless player, either can a hockey player......

Here we go again...

No, Marvin left his feet and targeted the head with a lift.

In the replay, you can see clearly that Ramage is very careful to stay on the ice and keep his body rigid so as not to come up high.

If tonight's hit is illegal, then open ice hits just need to be declared illegal and let's be done with it.

But the 2 hits were not "exactly" alike. Just give up on trying to make Marvin into a clean player via revisionist history. Nobody's buying that.

Lest you think I'm just a homer, the hit on your player at the regionals in Minneapolis by our player was "exactly" like Marvin's and I agreed with the call at the time and still do.

Shoulda been two for diving on Lee. :p

They're calling this like a soccer match. :p:p

Ugh, we suck...

Over to the Hawks game!

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

1st - the Ramage hit was great. perfectly legal shoulder on shoulder hit. when they review that (if the refs or league reviews it) they'll see that but there's nothing they can do for the team to give them a d-man back.

the Little hit on Lee was just dumb.

The Marvin hit wasn't dirty. He didn't leave his feet. No one tries to hit someone in the face with their shoulder.

The Ramage hit was nowhere near dirty. Maybe charging but not a dirty hit. I would love to hear how they explain kicking Ramage out of the game after they review the tape.

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

Karma is working for us.

Plus, the announcers for Wisconsin are bigger homers than Mazoko and Woog. Badgers are a worse team than I thought.

that was a bushleague hit by Woods, especially dangerous as Eddy was coasting and completely unaware

Sauer coach these guys this week?

Whats worse is that bushleague announcer trying to say he took a drive and knew it was coming.... he had no clue that hit was coming and to sit there and say he did when you are a so called hockey guy is a joke! I get they want to be homers for the big ten team but that is a joke!

by the new rules he should be kicked out. I don't agree with the rules, but he hit the guy in the head when he was defenseless just like Marvin did.

Re: SCSU @ UW: Hey, I can see the basement from here!

I hope Eddy and Oliver are ok. We don't have any extra bodies to put in tomorrow......
