Big win by the Gophers last night. A win tonight by the Gophs makes it mathematically impossible for us to finish behind Duluth, and a CC win or tie at home eliminates UND from us. We could have wrap up a top-3 finish tonight by just taking care of the BYE. :D

I heard that Marvin took out the post. What kind of suspension would the WCHA take on out on us for that? I heard that the post was undefeated this season. :D

I don't feel like looking back, and honestly I can't remember..but who has the tie-breaker between UMD and us...?

Us, and we'll likely have the tiebreaker over Wisconsin too. I'd rather not see Mankato two weekends in a row, but I guess I'm okay with any of the bottom three teams in the first round.

Okay Huskies, take care of business next weekend and the road will be smoothly paved. Please avoid detours.

If this team can't take care of business agaisnt Mankato they don't deserve to finish in the top three. I don't care if Raboin or Marvin don't play.

Why should the status of the two players hit matter in the suspension?
Shouldn't the hits be what matters not who was hit?
This type of response tells me you aren't mad about the hit so much as you are mad your guy is still out and sorry, nothing we can do about that and he could just as easily have gotten a concussion from a clean legal hit as he was from Marvin's hit.
Personally, I think this suspension was handed down because the whining by fans on here and other boards and blogs received coverage and the league was looking at a public relations hit (or a perceived one) and felt they had to "show they are doing something."
I do agree that at this rate, every hit to the head should get a suspension if they are giving this suspension for that hit.

Here is what I said on a different message board. This gets to the meat of the problem with suspending Marvin for this hit.

"I hope Kevin Allenspach gets an interview with Mcleod or sheppard. I want this one question asked. If a player from another team hit a guy exactly the same way as the Marvin hit, will they get 5 minute major and suspended for the rest of that game and at least one more game? I would assume he is going to say yes. If that is the case the game is taking a step in the wrong direction."

I agree. Except we live in a world of "victim impact statements" and it's no longer "punishment that fits the crime" but instead punishment as compensation.

Yeah, Bruce was sitting around reading these forums, and from that decided to implement because VarsityWisconsin was whining. :rolleyes:

This had nothing to do with anything said on any forum, its them trying to make up for what they feel was a mistake, and they end up making a bigger one.

Sweet. I have pull in the WCHA. Hopefully this suspension costs you guys a few games as it might cost us a few games too.

You don't have pull in your mother's basement you troll.

If we lose to Mankato, or an 8th/9th place team in the WCHA playoffs, that's our own fault, and not something to blame on Marvin being made an example of. If you guys can't beat the Gophers without Blake, same goes to you.
