I'm gonna disagree. He wasn't HORRID, but I didn't think he looked all that great. He did find the net twice, the first being set up by a great shot from Zabs, but he looked out of place and while I know he wasn't recruited for defense, he didn't look all that great at that end and took a stupid penalty.

I am NOT trying to get the cardinal and black nation down on Hanowski, and it was special for him to get two goals on his first night, but I wouldn't put him in the top 5 Huskies tonight... and overall they didn't have a great game.

He was great for what he was brought here to do.
It's amazing to see it, but Motzko is downright giddy about Hanowski and Lee.

So its too much to ask that he and Lasch play some defense too? Like I said, obviously he didn't stink up the ice, but in my opinion, I really liked what I saw out of Peckskamp last night more than Hanowski.

Like the addition of Michael Ayers as goaltender coach for the Husckeys.:)

He appears to be out of Rosemount based upon his MVP website. Will he be able to dedicate enough time to St. Cloud State while starting up his own business?

Well remember watching the SCSU v. UNH game and Ayers ending another bid at that first NCAA win.:mad:

He owes us! :D

HAHA! Not a fan of that either, but at least there are games to talk about. Lot's of blah blah blah gets old real quick. You can only break down a team so much you know.

I know what you mean about Lasch never getting back on defense. However, I am not sure after this meaningless game was the time to bring it up. How about you wait until he takes a worthless two minute shift and get's caught not coming back when the game counts?:D

To make judgements on defense after one game and an exhibition game at that is ridiculous.
Listening to Motzko on the coaches show tonight, he limted the ice time of his top guys as there was no need to extend them and from what he's seen in practice, Hanowski plays D and on the PK has been the only forward stepping up to block shots.
To make any (blanket) judgements on anything from last night is way premature.
Hell Motzko said he didn't like a lot of things during thr game last night but after watching the tape, it was more encouraging than he thought it was.
Can you really critique a team that didn't look sharp after 2 practices?

Calm it, both of you. I was making a comment about Ryan Lasch who's a senior year, so any reputation he's made about not playing D by now is WELL deserved.

And FTLT, don't come running to the boys' aid, you're not their mother. I'm not saying that we need to panic... I simply stated it wasn't a well-played game. If I can't say that, then we can't say anything that doesn't put the team in a positive light, and might as well ask USCHO to change all the emoticons to rainbows, gold stars and unicorns.

I'm not talking about Lasch, at this point, he is what he is.
You brought up Hanowski's lack of D play, that's what I'm commenting on.
And my other point is who cares if it wasn't well played since it was a game after 2 practices.
It wasn't expected to be well played, not by the coaches, not by the players, and it shouldn't have been by fans who know anything.
It was a game to knock some rust off before playing Miami, nothing more.

I couldn't disagree with that statement more. Sure they only had two "formal" practices but for God's sake this isn't pee-wee's. Hell, most of this team played together last year and while I'll give you the fact that we should expect them to be rusty we should always expect them to play well.

Euro, You are an idiot if you liked Peckscamp more than Hanowski...Peckscamp, skates hard but he is D3 player...Peckscamp will play in maybe 5 games all year....No where near as good as Hanowski, especially Sunday night...Also, what is expected of Hanowski? Was he supposed to go out there and walk 3 guys every shift and get prime scoring chances every time?..Chuck Grillo said he put in one of the best summers of anyone he's seen in 30 years at MN Hockey Camps...pretty high praise right there..it was an exhibition game, you all need to relax...they've hardly worked the PP, they weren't in normal game situations...basically rolling the lines and Dmen and just playing
