SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Personally I don't think that guy looks like Milan plus Milan wears a half shield not the full cage. He was interviewed last week and said he and the Husky coaches had agreed he should defer a year so that could also explain the "lack of commitment" on the BCHL site.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Has anyone heard who might be replacing Rud as asst. coach ? I've heard Steve Johnson from the Fargo Force. Anyone else heard that yet?

So does Gibbons move to coaching the defense?

Yes he does. :)

"There's going to be some dynamic changes to our hockey team from a coaching standpoint," Motzko said. "Gibby's taking over the defense, which is his level of expertise. He would collaborate with Eric (Rud), but Gibby ran the forwards.

"Steve Johnson's expertise comes with the forwards. Now you get the new excitement. I think that's what we have to feed on: new excitement, new blood, new eyes and new energy. I've got assistants in different roles and I hope their excitement gets me more excited."

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Bob's excitement has me excited.

Someone told me D Eddy is out the 1st half of the year because of grades. Is that true or just one of those made up interweb rumors?

It's no joke.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

New D commit
Jarrod Rabey, 17 year old from Illinois.
Doesn't lack confidence and is huge 6'1" 245
Will be playing for Indiana (USHL) this year.
Definitely going to have to get out watch this kid.

"I'm an offensive defenseman and I love to make plays," said Rabey, a senior in high school who turns 18 on Sept. 18. "Passing is one of my big things. I've got a heavy shot. I'm good on the power play. That's kind of my calling. I run the power play.
"I'm more of a finesse player."
Rabey said he saw the Huskies play three times last season with his team. He said one of the draws to playing for the Huskies was the number of Olympic-sized rinks in the WCHA.
"I'm a great skater. That's one of the best things (the Huskies coaches) like about me," he said. "I can move up and down the ice well.
"(The big ice) is a plus for my game. I can really stretch games out and make plays."

When I think of finesse players, a 245lb 17yo kid immediately comes to mind. ;)
