SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Congratulations. Except, when did I say we'd lose to the Gophers and Michigan Tech at home? You called for us to beat up on a really easy stretch of the schedule, excuse me if I don't ask you for winning lottery numbers.

That's the same thing I said when 90% of our fanbase was jerking off over that 12-game winning streak. :p

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

SHOW ME WHERE I SAID WE WOULD LOSE TO MICHIGAN TECH AT HOME.

I'm afraid we could lose to MTU for the first time at home in a long time, and UAA for the first time in our building. And unless something changes greatly, I wouldn't mind AT ALL drawing SCSU in the first round of the NCAAs.__________________

OK I made my point. I'm done. I nailed the last 18. I said I'd be back and I'm a man of my word. I was sooo right. :)

Oh, by the way -- do you still think Mosey is "garbage" like you posted during the season? Hmm 40 pts and nice tourney accolades.

Going to the Green Bay Gamblers versus Indiana Ice Friday and Saturday. Other than Nick Jensen...any other players worth taking note of?

Yeah, realisitic pessimism is way worse than a guy who admits he'll only be back if they win. I'm here rain or shine 12 months a year, buddy. And I was 8 rows away cheering my *** off both when we beat Vermont and were losing to Wisconsin. You can question my faith in the team all you want, but living in the Cities and on a tight budget I saw the team live 15 times, 7 times away from the X this year. But St. Cloud lost their last game, so you can feel free to go away until we rack up a nice 6 game winning streak next year. :D

As for Mosey, after he was being interviewed for his game winning goal, I started a "Tony Mosey!" chant, and YES, I still think he's garbage.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

So how does everyone think the league will finish next year? This is my first guess.

1. UND
2. St. Cloud
T-3. Wisconsin
T-3. Duluth
5. Bemidji
6. Minnesota
7. CC
8. Denver
9. Nebraska-Omaha
10. Alaska
11. Mankato
12. Michigan Tech

If Wisconsin returns all of their guys that are not seniors, they would be my favorites, but I have a feeling they will lose a ton of players. If Genoway returns for UND they are my favorites to win, if he doesn't, i'd knock them down a few notches. Duluth still returns quite a few high scorers, even without Bordson. Denver lost a ton, I honestly had a really tough time putting them at 8th, but with what they lose, they could even be lower. I'd like to see what everyone else thinks, but as of now this would be my guess.

Man that is a long list of teams!
Bemidji finishing ahead of the Rodents in there first year in the WCHA . . I like the way you think :D :D Although I don't think they will finish that high. I wouldn't sell Dean Blais short either in his first years in the league.

UND will be the team to beat with SCSU and Duluth not far behind. Even though Denver and Wisconsin are losing lots of players, they way those two schools recruit they will be right up there battling for a top spots as well.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I should put Bemidji that high, but they have a pretty decent team, I do think the grind of the WCHA will wear on them and they will probably end up finishing much lower. Yeah, Blais is a good coach, but I just don't think Omaha has the talent of the other WCHA teams. The Gophers are just not a very good team, they haven't been for a few years, no reason to think they will be an upper tier team next year either. I agree with Denver, I know they recruit very well, but there is no way they can replace all the players they lost in the past week.

I've actually spent a lot of time looking at who's coming back and who's not, and here's what I've got as of today, obviously gotta look at early signees as the season wears on:

1. UND
2. SCSU
3. DU
4. UW
5. UMD
6. BSU
7. MN
8. CC
9. MSU-M
10. UNO
11. MTU
12. UAA

Denver did lose a lot, but they're still Denver. They'll have some good recruits, and as of today, Cheverie's coming back, I think third is fair. I've heard he's likely not coming back, so obviously the team has to be adjusted as such when/if that decision is made. But yes, Denver and Wisconsin are losing much more than UND and SCSU, at least as of today.

I also think that on talent alone I'd put BSU and UNO a spot higher each, but I gotta factor in they're not gonna be used to played such tough competition week in and week out. And I think Anchorage is gonna be the pits this year. Losing Olthius means Bryce Christiansieve is their returning starter, they lost their ONE goalscorer, another solid senior leader, and their emerging freshman blueliner bolted. Could be a LONG winter in Anchorage.
