SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

So with the new tentative schedule I am already planning my trips to St. Cloud and other places.

1. I will be in town for the Miami series. Annual bonfire weekend for my family so I will only be at the Friday game.

2. I will be going to Grand Forks.

3. Michigan Tech series in St. Cloud, because that is always a fun weekend.

Exciting. I will be at both rounds of SCSU/UND, and also will be checking out SCSU at the new BREC and the new DECC. I'd also love to get down for the Miami series if possible. Come on October!

I will see you in Grand Forks.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Nick Oslund will be some sort of captain, IMO (called it at the game).

Marvin is a beast. I hope he stays.

I think we should retire the red face. WE WON A NCAA PLAYOFF GAME, *****ES

I'll see two Husky games next year in Green Bay.

It was good to see The Boomer and get a personal blessing from Pope Skeeterman.

Taylor Johnson was god-awful this last weekend. He'll only get better though. There's a ton of promise there.

Tony Mosey has a knack for scoring the big goals...that's very awesome to see.

When the Huskies were forechecking well...they were causing all sorts of problems. When they weren't...they were getting run through.

I don't like the tandem goaltending. IMO, Dunn is waaay more consistent but Lee has the potential to be the best goalie in the league.

Tom Reid made fun of my g/f for being a Badger. :D

Going to the Gambler games on Fri and Sat...I'll let you all know how Jensen is (JOE JENSEN!?!?!?!)

I do believe my report on Taylor Johnson was...He made a lot of mistakes but handles the puck well....and shows promise. <--Spot on.

These two statements are so dead on it is ridiculous. Also as noted in a previous post, I have never been on the Hepp bandwagon, however I honestly think he has the potential to be a pivotal part of our defensive core next year.

In my opinion after watch every husky game home and away for the last 6 years, I haven't been as excited for an upcoming season as I am for the 2010-2011 team....

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

At the Final Five I asked the Wisconsin band if they could play during the Championship game because the SCSU band sucks. They said no. I was sad.

What was the SCSU band doing during the F5 champ game? It seemed like they were only there for the 1st period, and then I didn't see them again.

SCSU Hockey talk: It looks like SCSU is returning a good team for next year. I wouldn't be surprised if both SCSU and UND are in the top 3 of the league next year, as both are returning their core group of players, and UW/DU are both losing a massive chunk of theirs.

So does Dunn. :D

Nic Rioux
Sam Zabkowicz

Forward recruits coming in this fall:

Dowd (Indiana/USHL),
Reid (Westside/BCHL)
Thorson (Owatonna/NAHL)

Ravndalen (Waterloo/USHL) is out of junior eligibility but there seems to be question whether he’ll wind up at SCSU.
Oliver (Fargo/USHL) is a good bet to play another season of juniors.

Defensive recruits:

Brandon Burrell,
Kevin Gravel,
Nick Jensen

Where's Mitch Ryan going?

Looking at the schedule, my first priorities are going to be going to Bemidji and UNO and show them what WCHA fans are all about! After that... I dunno, we'll see. Maybe the Ralph.

And holy crap, after the tourney 9 of the next 10 games are at home. We're gonna pay for that later though as from mid Jan to mid Feb 7 of our 8 games are on the road.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

No kidding. How many people were there five or six?

Yes, and none with any instrument experience. They won a "Be a Pep Band Member for an Hour" contest. Get their new cd, Music to kill cats by, available at all Miracle Ear kiosks throughout the midwest

You're not complaining about that, are you?

UW fans were chanting "your band sucks." I mean, thanks, Captain Obvious.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

I hate to have to do this but I have to. This is for you SCSU Euro. I said I'd be back in a few months and I'm a man of my word.

My post (12/09):

"I guess it's the difference between a realistic and a pessimist. Yes, I do have an opinion the second half will show even better results. I'm a little confused. What does last years Gopher games have to do with this year? sweep What makes Quinni so frightening? sweep They just dropped games to Brown, Yale and tied Holy Cross. Are you worried about UAA, 3 of 4 points Brown sweep and MTU sweep at home? Why? Wisco will be very tough. split CC split on the road and UND split at home should be splits. I would guess they'll go 12-6 over the last 18."

Gee, I guess I underestimated this team - they actually finished 12-4-2 in the last 18. Your confidence in this team had them losing to Minnesota, MTU at home and certainly no chance in the NCAA's. You were writing these guys off in December!

Vindication? Of course. Rubbing your nose in it? Why not? I couldn't have been more on the mark. Next year consult me before you spout off. Maybe you could have made some money in Vegas.

I'm done.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Who are you guys and what have you done with Husky fans?

They've seen the Apolocylpse, everything else is gravy.

That was the pep band? I thought it was a random group of fans who brought horns with them.

Were you in Section 103 this past weekend?

Congratulations. Except, when did I say we'd lose to the Gophers and Michigan Tech at home? You called for us to beat up on a really easy stretch of the schedule, excuse me if I don't ask you for winning lottery numbers.

Spin it anyway you want. You can't have it both ways.
