SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Has that banner even been updated? Last time I was in the NHC, it was missing a few years on it.

Remember...the athletic department are dealing with budget cuts. They cannot afford the vinyl to iron on the years. I guess that means we have to show up to more games. ;) :D

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

I think you got that backwards.
Motzko sent Marvin (cheap goon) after Genoway (skill guy)...which is how this whole thing began. :p

Yep... Motzko's plan was BRILLIANT. Be so anti-goon over the years that even SCSU's own fans call the program soft and anti-contact, then outta nowhere put a hit on Genoway. NOBODY will see it coming.

Next move? Canada invades Turkey!

Not gonna lie, that's gonna be weird the first few times I see it.

Also, I don't like it when they change numbers, especially in LeBlanc's case, he wore 29 for two years. Oh well, c'est la vie. Anybody know or have an idea what number Mitch'll wear?

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

The more I read about president Potter the more I like him. What he is saying about Football I have been saying for years. It sounds like football is gone and like I have said most people won't care.

They've been dipping into the reserves for the past three years and they're only looking into cutting programs now because they're out of reserves??? Really smart planning there by the SCSU Athletic Department there.

Morris Kurtz is an idiot! How he has a job is beyond me.... The previous president was to busy protesting UND's nickname to actually know what was going on and Morris took advantage of that. The president before him was really good, but only stuck around for a couple years. The guy before him was a visionary and the only reason we have hockey. If he would not have died of cancer I think things would be a lot better around SCSU now.

I believe that the ONE thing we might agree on is that some of the clowns there running SCSU Athletics need to go. ;)

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

I have no doubt that the football team is losing at lot of money, even hundreds of thousands of dollars, but that $67,000 number seems fishy. It is clearly only ticket revenue, and I think it's unfair to not include football specific concessions, advertising and appearal revenues in that number. Also, there were six home games in 2008, I believe avg attendance was around 4000 like last year. I'll say 2000 are paying customers. At about $8 per ticket, that's at least $96000 in ticket revenue.

Yeah, earlier there was an article that say that SCSU football was operating with about a $25,000 loss.
