SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

Funny, at my dentist here in the Twin Cities, I have to book 3-4 months in advance since they're so busy while in Grand Forks it was only a week or so...

They don't need any o'them dang dentists in the Forks. Long as you got enough teeth left to bite off a chew, it's all good! ;)

Minneapolis PD set up sobriety checkpoints last night, anyone who was drinking and driving got a gopher hockey ticket and anyone over .20 BAC is being forced to actually go to the games instead of jail.

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

Mick Hatten of the sctimes had a nice write up today on Chay Genoway.

http://www.sctimes.com/article/2010.../Hatten-column--Return-is-big-for-UND-captain

Thanks. Liked the article but disliked the comments at the end where some fans are still upset.:o

Sounds like the Sioux are much more focused on what they need to do to play consistently good hockey and to follow their "system".

"We've definitely been inconsistent," said Genoway, whose team was picked by the media and the coaches to win the WCHA in the preseason. "Some nights we've been inconsistent for 60 minutes and sometimes for back-to-back nights. There's not a weekend that we've been overly happy with.

"Definitely, of late, we're starting to figure out our systems a little bit."

Would be very interesting if Gino Gasparine, Dean Blais, and Hakstol could collaborate and write a book that explains what the "system" is to us fans. Also looking around the NHL there are likely Sioux alumni that could add credibility to the so called "system".

This is simply not true goldy. Nobody bites off chew anymore. They got them in them fancy schmancy tins now...

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

I am thinking through what SCSU has done so far this year in hopes of finding a glimmer of optimism for this weekend but I'm coming up with nothing. Nada, zip, zilch, zero.

I think at best all we can hope for is a couple close games and getting out of Grand Forks with some semblance of respectability. :o

I also heard that federal inmates on death row can now choose between staying on death row and living in North Dakota............. not one death row inmate has taken them up on the offer.

I hope the boys keep their heads up, including their little heads!

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

Ouch, both Hextall and Gregoire are out for this weekend with injuries (and longer).
Those guys have been the two wingers on our top line, brutal.

Two dmen are suiting up at forward now to replace them due to the defensive depth...Gleason and Marto.

This weekend just got a bit tougher for UND.

Nah, probably just makes the beatings we are going to take closer in score.

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

Nice win for the Sioux tonight.
The first period was sloppy play, but they picked it up after that.

SCSU's climb up the standings starts tonight!

Probably tomorrow night. UND has been much better on Friday nights this year...usually get ties or losses on Saturday.

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

The Huskies are just slow and sloppy in the 3rd period. Get these guys some 5 Hour Energy.

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

I can't believe that those hack UND players only took one penalty all game.

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

Mr. Malone had a nice game. Mr. Euro seemed unhappy about Mr. Malone's first goal being allowed. I politely disagreed with him, but I have to respect his opinion. After all he is an opposing fan and who should always respect opposing fans and their opinions. I've personally made it my Golden Rule to do just that.

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

I can't believe Brad Malone scored twice. We must have been double-covering the talented guys on the line.

That is what happens when you do that. The player that isn't considered talented will burn the opponent. Which he did tonight not once but twice. :)

Either way, after watching the game I'm a little bit surprised at St. Cloud's record. Fast team and Mike Lee looked good. Must've finally shaken off some of his fear for the Sioux. :D
