SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

Zero out of six were deserved. I could see maybe claiming 4 at the most...but saying all 6 were undeserved is just blatantly stupid. And given your history of stupid posts, I'm not all that shocked.

I'm trying to remember all 6, but I can only think of about 4 right now (Martin hit, the two against Wisconsin, and the CFB against Duluth). The CFB against Duluth was a legit major. You could argue either way about the two against Wisconsin (CFB and the Murray hit), although I think the CFB was a stretch for 5, and the Murray hit was not a major. The Martin Hit could also be argued about, but IMO given the "contact to the head" rules that the WCHA has, it was probably a major. So, 2 of the 4 were legit majors. The other two majors that we had I don't remember, so can't really comment on those.

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

I believe this pertains to the current discussion and I am therefore submitting it. Mr. Brad Malone received a five minute major for grasping the facemask of Mr. Carlo Finucci in the second game of the Kendall Hockey Classic against the University of Alaska Nanooks. Hopefully no player commits this scandalous penalty this weekend as you never like to see that happen in the gentlemanly came of ice hockey.

I would also like to add the following: Palindrome. Hooray.

Malone got a major for "face masking" in an end of the 2nd period scrum in Alaska, that also resulted in an Alaska penalty, iirc, although not a major. The other one was MacWilliam's for contact to the head in the 1st Maine game, which, imho, was the weakest of the majors called against the Sioux. However, they were all called, and they are penalties that need to be avoided.

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

A thread with out Dirty being Dirty feels emptier than the waiting room at any St. Cloud area dentist.

That's right Italian Sioux! It's amazing that when you brush your teeth on a daily basis you don't have to go to the dentist more than 1-2 times a year. Give it a try.

Funny one of my old college roomates is a pilot for southwest.....

Funny none of my old college roomates is a pilot for anybody. Well, I guess one of them could have been a "sky" pilot or space cowboy. One of them was part owner of the Seattle Mariners when they had Griffey Jr. and A-Rod. I think it's better to be a millionaire than a pilot, unless you were a millionaire pilot.

Either way they both went to SCSU.:)

Funny, at my dentist here in the Twin Cities, I have to book 3-4 months in advance since they're so busy while in Grand Forks it was only a week or so...

Friends in high places is a great thing your's sounds pretty sweet, this isn't going to be a one-up but it's my favorite hook-up. One of my best friends is a ticket manager for TCF and his office is downstairs at the mooch next to the weight room so free tickets, booze in between periods, and no lines for anything including parking and bathrooms. It's not the greatest thing ever but for a college hockey fanatic it's pretty freaking fun plus it's best friends hating on each other's teams all weekend.;)

Re: SCSU at UND battle for the headshot rule

SCSU has an opportunity to get a win over a quality team this weekend. A UND sweep will be a huge blow to any hopes of SCSU becoming a contender by the end of the season. Hoping the Huskies can manage a split. Looking forward to some fast paced quality hockey.

When I was at SCSU my buddy was the U of M student ticket manager there and always got me in to the SCSU/UM games for free. It's never bad to have connections...

Sioux need a sweep.
A WCHA championship hangs in the balance for UND. Also Hakstol has 99 career WCHA victories as head coach and is looking for win #100.

Sioux have veteran leadership on defense and should be able to keep SCSU in check. Could very likely be a low scoring game for SCSU, especially if Dell is in the nets both nights.

Motzko is not following my keys to the sweep, so we're gonna get it in the rear. Hopefully they enjoy it.
