SCSU 2010-2011 Season Thread- Frozen Four or Bust

Re: SCSU 2010-2011 Season Thread- Frozen Four or Bust

I also don't make bets with people who don't know any better. I'm a caring person.

This was just for future reference. I'm not a drunk Gopher fan under delusions of grandeur.

Re: SCSU 2010-2011 Season Thread- Frozen Four or Bust

Sooooo, the SCSU fans are confident that their team will finish above the Gophers, BADgers and Pie-in-ears this season, but none of them are willing to put their money where their mouth is, eh? So who are the dickless ones in this discussion? :p

Hey... did anybody actually see the Manitoba game? Wanna discuss what they thought?

Re: SCSU 2010-2011 Season Thread- Frozen Four or Bust

Boomer did a review of the Manitoba game on Da Huskies. com Off to Omaha, tomorrow AM. Picking up Boomer and his spousal equivalent on the way. Should be interesting. From what I've heard, the new guys look pretty good.
I just can't get over coach Brewster (the brew Dawg) and his "gopher nation" He's even funnier than Wacky Wacker, only dumber.

Re: SCSU 2010-2011 Season Thread- Frozen Four or Bust

What're the terms Slappy?

I'm Goldy. Slappy is a 'Tonka fan, not a Hornet fan. :p

Simple. SCSU fans feel their team will finish above all three of UW, DU and UMN. I don't agree. If you're right I buy you a drink of your choice at the F<strike>5</strike>6, if any of these three finish ahead of SCSU in the final conf standings, you buy me a drink of my choice at the F6. If by some chance I miss the F6 (work travel, kid's event, etc.) I have to find a proxy who will buy you the drink (I know several people who are going), ditto if you miss the F6.

I feel that we will finish above UW and DU. Both teams did take a major hit in the off season. Speaking of which, I am going to see Geffrion play this weekend with the Milwaukee Admirals. I will admit that I have not done my research on UM, but I think that they will finish in the middle. Yes, I do believe that SCSU has a strong chance of finishing ahead of UM. As Brenthoven and Euro as my witnesses, I will take up the challenge. Beer only. I don't buy "fairy juice".

And I'll only take it if you can find a rice based beer at the X (real rice beer; Kirin, Sapparo, TsingTao - not Bud). Have this gluten thing going on and barley is not kind to me any more. :( I don't view wine or gin and tonic as "fairy juice."

I agree that SCSU has a strong chance of finishing ahead of all of those teams. I just look at history and think there is also a good chance one of them will surprise and SCSU will disappoint (there is a history there;) ). And I'll bet the cost of a drink at the X on it.

I skipped the game and so did a bunch of other people I know. Listen to the coaches show and Motzko talks about what he thought.

I hate to seem like the beer "know-it-all", but those three beers you named are all barly based with rice as an adjunct. Some gluten free beers are commercially available and are buckwheat based. Despite the name, buckwheat is not related to wheat... it's of the dicot family. Barly and wheat are of the poaceae family... as are rice, corn, and sorghum (which is also a popular base for glutten free beers). Sprecher makes a sorghum based beer called Shakparo that's not too bad. Redbridge is the SAB commercial offering.

Wow, thanks! Glad to actually learn something useful on this forum for once! ;)

My pleasure. However, I need to make a correction... Redbridge is produced by AB InBev, not SAB... sorry about that. Also, not all Sprecher products are available in MN... you might have to cross the border to get that particular offering.

How about tailgating? I will bring a great gluten free beer that is by Lakefront Brewery. "Fairy juice" is anything that is not vodka or whiskey. I used it as a shot against a certain person. ;)
