Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

So Husky fans should start crying MacWilliams should be suspended for the entire year?:D

Yep. Just like Marvin!!:D

I was watching Roe, and he just fell down near the face off dot. I thought at first it might be a cramp. He fell down gently and grabbed his calf.

Let's see . . . he chases Genoway to the boards, sees the puck slip to the left, fully extends body to deliver an elbow to the head. Intent to injure or not, it was a cheap hit.

You wanted the team to be more physical. :p

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

How has Hepp disappointed?
It would be nice if he were more physical but that's about the only thing I can think of.
He can't fight here which he did well in the USHL and he wasn't expected to add much offense.
But he has done his job defensively IMO and has not made many mistakes that have burned us.

Is there anyone in an SCSU sweater you won't go to the ends of the earth to defend?

Probably from all the diving...

Hey dip****... Roe's sold a call or two in his three years at SCSU, name a forward who hasn't. But I'm sick of hearing that all he does is dive. He's listed as 5'9, 175 lbs. and he is really good at getting under an opponent's skin, a la Cal Clutterbuck. When somebody Roe's size gets hit by someone a typical UND d-man's size, what do you expect is gonna happen? He's gonna get thrown around.

You gonna ***** about Lasch diving too on that hit where he got upended? (I'd link it but I'm on a network that's had YouTube blocked.... yet they'll let me waste my time here :D )

EXACTLY. Motzko's told the boys they need to start hitting guys more. But they're SCSU players, and years of being timid and anti-physical have left some cobwebs, and so now the teams needs to be instructed HOW to hit someone. Word is Finger and Conboy are being flown in as consultants. :D

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

How is that going to the ends of the earth to defend someone?
He's not great, but he's not awful, wow, really sticking up for him there aren't I?

Because any time a person rags on a SCSU player you try and spin it into a positive. After reading your comments one would think this team was number one in the nation and a sure lock at the national championship.:D ;)

So I get blasted for actually taking the time to watch players and give a full reaction rather than just knee jerk "OMG why does so and so ever play they ****ing suck" when they make a mistake?
I don't think Ammerman should be playing at all but I'm not going to come on here and rip him apart, it's just not right IMO.

You are correct, Ammerman is not any good and should not be playing at all.:D

The motzko show should start any time. hopefully Motzko won't whine tonight and make up excuses.:D

You defend EVERY SINGLE player, every time someone has the gaul to say something negative about them.

Chris Hepp has disappointed me, tb, and a lot of people on here. I don't wish the kid any will ill, I hope he improves, but to this point, I would've expected him to perform better.

Well if you were expecting him to be Jeff Finger like TB was, then yes he has, because he was never going to be that.
Me?
I expected a decent defensive d-man who would be able to play physically.
Only on the physical part has he "disappointed" but he and Zabs compliment each other well and that's been a decent pairing.
What I don't do is overestimate a players ability or their potential problems in adjusting to college.
Look at the comments on Lee for God's sake, after just 6 starts, people are wondering why Motzko is going to keep playing him on Friday's.
Politicians don't flip/flop that fast.

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

"I feel bad about what happened," said Marvin, who chased Genoway for about three-quarters of the length of the rink late in the second period Friday before finally catching him in the back with a check behind the SCSU net. "It was poor judgement on my part and there's no place for checking from behind like that. The important thing now is to make sure (Genoway) is OK. It wasn't my intention to hurt him."

"The worst thing was that I got my hands up high," said Marvin, who will face the Sioux again when they come to the Hockey Center on Feb. 12-13. "I didn't leave my feet, but it wasn't a good hit. That's why I don't disagree with the officials about the call or the suspension."

One other note from Monday's practice, Garrett Roe skated with no ill effects from the lower body injury that took him out of Saturday's game in the closing minutes. Both Marvin and Roe should be in the lineup Friday against Wisconsin.
