This is more vile than any of the state challenges. Truly gross stuff here.

Agreed. I can almost understand the states’ argument. Almost. This case is a joke. I could see SCOTUS tossing out this particular case for lack of standing, but siding with the states, despite that particular case also originally being tossed for lack of standing by a Bush appointee, but I know I’ve beaten the horse dead at this point.

Schiff introduces a Constitutional Amendment to overturn Citizens United.

Nothing in this Constitution shall be construed to forbid Congress or the States from imposing reasonable viewpoint-neutral limitations on private campaign contributions or independent election expenditures, or from enacting systems of public campaign financing, including those designed to restrict the influence of private wealth by offsetting campaign spending or independent expenditures with increased public funding.

Conservatives should support that, I mean, they keep going on about Soros using his money to affect elections, so that will stop him right in his tracks!!!!

Jesus. Every problem in our nation points straight back to Reagan, doesn't it??

(Yeah, Thomas was a Bush Sr. appointment, but Sr. was thanks to Reagan.)

Yes. Some of us knew it at the time (whistles).

Electing Reagan was the moment of cowardice that will doom America for the next century*, the way the Great Compromise was the moment of cowardice that doomed America for its first century. Without going back on our fundamental principles and values that way, this country would have been so much better. But I absolutely believe we can self-correct, with time, and as demography kills off the derp.

* Less than 60 years to go.
