Kavanaugh also said during his hearings he would honor precedence. So, I'm not buying that one argument means the other will hold. They'll go Constitution second amendment on it when that one comes up.

We could impeach 4 or 5 of the Nazi justices for perjury during their hearings. Maybe that's the way to do it, rather than +6.

If you people don't stop using precedence for precedents you are going to wind up Republican Congressmen. And there enlies the problem.

Yes, but what the Republicans have figured out is no one in politics goes to jail for anything. Garland is a complete pussy.

1. If the Nazis get back in power you'll see people going to jail. Anybody who calls them on their bullsh-t.

2. But Justice Drunky McRapist neither would nor should go to jail under any circumstances. He should simply be stripped form the Court for being a POS political lacky, not a judge.

Sure. He just should have been in jail a long time ago for rape. But, America decided to make his a Supreme Court Justice because he's a white male with the correct pedigree.

No R Senate will ever approve another D nominee. They have no bottom. It is 27 years past when we should have realized it. These are not Americans, they are terrorists.

Don't forget it took a historically motivated Dem side to turnout and beat Trump plus filling two holes in an inside straight in GA to simply get a 50/50 split. Most election cycles I see the Republican floor in the senate to be 53-54 seats. Dems thought they did great last election but as discussed here, they really didn't. They got trashed in so many places and worst is of course they didn't even realize how bad Manchin was going to be for the left wing of the party.

You misspelled Sinema.

Again, the problem with Manchin isn't him, it's the fact they didn't take North Carolina or Maine or Iowa to make him irrelevant on the hard votes.
 
Ultimately to save democracy we will have to improve it by going to one man one vote, and that means getting rid of the Senate, or making it strictly proportional, which is essentially getting rid of it or by combining states.

But if you abolish the Senate, then CA, NY, FL, and TX run the country and wahrrrgarrbl muh rights!!

But I agree, the Senate is a relic of compromise with the antebellum South. They rebelled anyway, and we won the war. We should've ended it then as part of Reconstruction. Something, something, "Rebellions have consequences".
