Meh. Four isn't as many accusers as Trump has out there, and he's still in office doing a great job.

At some point, you'd think that Republicans would be smart enough to acknowledge that a confirmation of Kavanaugh will likely be more toxic to their midterm prospects than telling Mushroom Dick to pick someone else.

Most of them don't even see that Kav did something wrong, how could they see it as being toxic? All boys do it after all...

A guest on NPR made that point this morning. If she gets the Anita Hill treatment and K is confirmed, it could cause backlash in November.

Maybe they don’t care. They rammed thru the tax cuts and if they ran thru K, they can quash women’s rights even if they lose midterms

There's any number of knuckle dragging judges they could ram though while avoiding some backlash. I've got to believe at some point they're going to realize they don't need to die on this particular hill.

There are half a dozen judges, one of which is a woman who could as easily gut Roe and Casey and pass muster with little real opposition.

Even if the vast majority of people know he did something wrong the only people that count are the people who elect them and.... looky where all the people who are morally blind reside... shockingly their constituents are the ones that are willing to sell their souls to 'do the right thing' for the SJC. The rest of the people can be as awed as they want at the moral bankruptcy but it won't matter.

Right so what makes Kav so special? Maybe his unique beliefs of executive power. Of course those beliefs would be put to the test in either 2020 or 2024.

They will not willingly change course on Kavanaugh. The modern conservative mind will not do what is prudent if it means 'giving in' or 'surrendering' on really anything. It does make you wonder if that's tied to its emerging less educated constituency.
