Re: SCOTUS 10: Pack the Court!

I know some posters around here who are in love with that idea!

He is saying that what that tweet said (that not being for UHC is somehow fringe) is BS.

AOC said candidates who don't support it should be seen as fringe candidates. Which is true because it's very popular among the American people and keeps gaining popularity, especially as Millenials are about to become the majority of voters in this country.

AOC might want to get over herself a little bit and learn to work with people. As we've said before to you, its popular until the tax increases get mentioned, then it sinks like a stone. I'm all for Millenials asserting their priorities but that starts with actually voting, something they've thus far shown an aversion to doing vs those Baby Boomer fossils who keep giving us treasonous knuckledraggers.

Re: SCOTUS 10: Pack the Court!

And as I've said before to you, that isn't true. Instead of paying a private insurer more than you would the government to not have everyone covered (and all the medical bankruptcies that taxpayers foot the bill for) you're coming out ahead. It's not difficult to understand when explained in those terms and this isn't some oversight by everyone in that graph as you're magically making it out to be. Everyone knows taxes would increase, they wouldn't support it if they didn't think they were coming out ahead under such a policy.

And again as we told you, if you bring up the tax as a method of paying for UHC the support drops. Whether that makes sense or not isnt the point. We all know that UHC in the long run will be cheaper but the average voter doesnt. You are making the same mistake that the Dems always make, assuming that everyone knows what you know. Most people dont, nor do they want to know. They hear "socialism" and it is dirty to them. And that isnt just old people, people of all ages feel this way.

AOC is a candidate I like and support, but if she wants any future in true national politics (not just being a Congresswoman from NY) she needs to understand not everyone is on the same page as her and they are not ready to just be dragged along. To win you need to have the support of everyone on your side. There is a reason the candidates she stumped for didnt universally destroy in the primaries...not everyone is on the same page or ready for that change to come.

I kinda doubt everyone who responded to that poll just completely failed to understand the cost implications.

I posted an article from a Minnesota Republican in the PPACA thread on this topic. He seems to think that the Republicans have all the good ideas and ideas like this one are going to destroy Minnesota and the United States.

I would say that have, based on what's happened when states have actually tried to go ahead and implement single payer (VT for example).

So the guy that's in the GOP system, he thinks the GOP has the best solutions? Consider me shocked, and knock me over with a feather.

That's just it though. What's the solution? Nothing? I've been waiting for their ideas for years.

Tax cuts for the rich, convince enough poor and middle class white people that it's the brown people's fault not much money trickled down to them. It's brilliant, really.
