Although it didn't factor in a couple of the goals that period, Plattsburgh is cheating up big-time on rebounds in an effort to generate some kind of offense, and conceding some bad odd-man rushes as a result. It's a lot like what they used to do when they had Sundberg as insurance at the other end, except without the Sundberg. Which is just making it ugly.

At this time it almost makes you wonder (myself certainly included) if Platty has been over rated and over polled all season.

I certainly think it puts to rest any illusions about their place vis-a-vis Oswego: the Lakers are clearly the class of the SUNYAC. I'm not as sure that this game (in the extent that they're getting manhandled) is the best indicator of Plattsburgh's talent in general, however; they went for broke with a new strategy against a team they haven't been able to solve, and it worked worse than the old one. I don't think Plattsburgh wins tonight either way, but the score isn't necessarily indicative of a gap quite as broad as it would seem.

Wouldn't you rather build up oswego for this performance instead of tear down plattsburgh?

Plattsburgh played right along with middlebury and norwich this season, they beat or tied a bunch of good teams. They're not over-rated, I wouldn't say. They're a good team, who had a good season that was 1-2 games away from being a great season.

My word was "manhandled," but yeah, that's exactly what I said. I also said that as far as I'm concerned, Oswego would still win with the Cardinals playing at the top of their game. My only qualifier was that this particular shellacking might not be the best barometer of Plattsburgh's place in Division III as a whole. Believe me, I'm more than aware they're getting smoked like Cohibas this evening.

Platty gets a late PPG. Now 6-2 Lakers with 4:30 left.

MAke that 2 late PPGs (another one with 2 min left) 6-3 now.

Key tongiht, Oswego stayed out of box most of the game until they got dumb late.
