Saturday Mar. 6th Scores: I just took a Manhattanville and wiped my Plattsburgh

Re: Saturday Mar. 6th Scores: I just took a Manhattanville and wiped my Plattsburgh

And the game ends with the same score as SNC's game last weekend: 7-1. SOG total for UWRF - 12.

Re: Saturday Mar. 6th Scores: I just took a Manhattanville and wiped my Plattsburgh

Elmira played a good game, had the win except for that 1 second. This was a big "payback" from M'ville for the quarterfinals from 5yrs ago;)

Two things we learned tonight...

#1- History always repeats itself...

#2- Keep your mouth shut when there are 8 seconds left and the score is 3-2! It's not over until the fat lady sings!!! :p

Re: Saturday Mar. 6th Scores: I just took a Manhattanville and wiped my Plattsburgh

I just don't see the ECAC West getting 2 teams in the tournamet.
If they do.......it'll be 8/3 and the East Committee will have won another victory.

Would be happy to travel to Elmira however !

As much as I'd like to meet up with you again for another brew...

I don't think Elmira makes it. They don't deserve it.

2-5 in their last seven games.

Manhattanville is now basically even with them in comparisons. Manhattanville definitely gets Pool B IMHO and Elmira should be left out (and rightfully).

They sat on their lead in the 3rd period...the PP was stagnant and pretty awful most of the night. Elmira got caught playing Manhattanville's game most of the night.

Casey Tuttle had one of the worst games I've ever seen him play (sans maybe the @Oswego game last year)

Same old same old in Elmira...I hope they'll learn sometime sooner rather than later that playing your best hockey in the middle of the season gets your no where.

Hats off to the seniors.

Rusty Masters- you're a workhorse. Great career. You will be sorely missed.

Greg Moore- for the most part pretty steady and reliable D-man

Casey Tuttle- wish your last game would go down as something better. I know you'd like to have it back. But you won a heck of a lot games for EC in your four years. Wish this one didn't have to end this way.

Scott Gamble- Another steady d-man. Not going to score you goals or points. But man could he lay some hits when needed.

Wish it could have ended better guys. Thanks for the memories.

Hopefully I'll see a lot of you guys in Placid If i can get off work and make it up there.

Congrats to Manhattanville too. As much as I depise them. They deserved the win tonight and never gave up and definitely delivered payback from the 2006 NCAA Quarters game. Literally the EXACT same scenario. Valliantdefender...this beer's for you. Enjoy it.

Now go get your butts kicked by Middlebury, Oswego, Norwich, etc in the first round. ;)

Is this your alter-ego, Prez?;)

Negative. The first lady is real.

She was there tonight and was reffering to TTF chanting its all over with 8 seconds left and Manhattanville down one.

Just got off the horn with my son,he says they are prepared for everything or nothing including EC back at Rye on Wed.Thanks Prez.

EDIT: When was the game some say it was 5 years ago but 2006 is only 4

Unless there are some 5th year seniors on the teams the only one who was there 5 years ago was Coach Keith Levinthal so how is it a "real" payback?
just saying

Yup. I'll admit it, I had faith in EC pulling it out with :08 to go. Silly me, a man of little faith actually having faith... Goddammit.

If it is indeed my fault, I'll swallow that pill. But be sure to put a hockey stick in my hands and put my arse on the ice before I do. Son-of-a... awww, crap. Next year, boys. Yeah, there's still hope from the smoke-filled room that Elimra will get their shot, but I seriously doubt they will get the nod this year. But I've been wrong before...

I echo many of Prez's statements from his 10:40 post (You're a class-act, Derek), but I'll wait until after the selection process. I have little hope, but hey... you never know.

Typical Elmira. Can not even hold on to lead. Let a visiting team come in and beat them with one second on the clock. I believe it was Manhattanville who came into town back in '07; down two goals with a couple of minutes left; Manhattanville pulls their goalie and scores twice to beat Elmira in O.T. to win ECAC West, Correct me if I'm wrong. Can not keep turning the puck over in their own zone and expect to win. All year long the the team was playing great hockey but come year end looked like Ceglarski's teams from years past. Still have a heck of a time trying to get puck out of there zone. Elmira's style of play is easy for teams to adapt too. Spend way to much time passing not enough shooting, after all this is Division III hockey. Do not get a lot of quality shots on goal. Maybe someday this program too will win a National title but for now a ECAC W Championship is about all we should be shooting for.

Last time EC hosted the ECAC West was 2008 and they lost 1-0 in regulation to Manhattanville.

I forget what happened in 2007. I'm pretty sure Manhattanville hosted though. We beat Hobart in the play-in game and then lost to M'Ville down there I believe.

Re: Saturday Mar. 6th Scores: I just took a Manhattanville and wiped my Plattsburgh

Correct me if I'm wrong.
The only game I can find going back from today when Manhattanville tied the game with an extra attacker and then won in OT at Elmira was on December 5, 2008. In 2007, Manhattanville won the ECAC-West (at home) the old fashioned way....they beat the living h-\\ out of Elmira, going up 4-1 early in the 3rd.

Re: Saturday Mar. 6th Scores: I just took a Manhattanville and wiped my Plattsburgh

Last rant of the night.

What the heck is up with Manhattanville's Arlen Marshall getting the Most Valuable Player?

He didn't even register a single point in the championship game and only scored one goal in the semifinal?

I'm fine with giving it to someone from Manhattanville. Why not give it to the guy that scored the game winner in OT and kept M'Ville's season alive? Or the guy that scored with 1.8 seconds left?

Re: Saturday Mar. 6th Scores: I just took a Manhattanville and wiped my Plattsburgh

Say what you will about EC and their luck or lack of it ..the final score can't be changed ..even if the refs missed a call..congrads to coach SAUL for being coach of the year ..did a great job and deserves that COACH OF THE YEAR award ...it's been a pleasure watching his work with this team and he's fully deserving of the honour..watch out if elmira gets a shot at a playin game ...lot of teams would be very happy if they don't get in so they avoid having to play them ..after this manhattenville game and their fate" they could be extremely motivated and angry ..hope they get that chance ..any team out there want to play them????

Prez, I might be thinking of the December 1 game of the 2006-07 Season. Thanks!

I am not so sure I would be waiting for the bid. I also don't believe to many teams are wishing to avoid Elmira right now, 2-5 the last seven games. With two of those wins coming from a team who is not in the tourney and one who barely got in.

As much as I'd like to think you're correct,

Elmira had the same opportunity last year against Neumann...and lost AGAIN on home ice.

2-5 in your last seven games doesn't deserve a bid.

I really hope Elmira figures out this late season tank job syndrome they've seem to have caught the last three seasons. They are starting to get towards Cubs and Bills status.
