Augsburg's Lochner just broke the NCAA saves record too :eek:

To be fair, the previous record was in regulation though

The longest D3 game ever, with the most saves by a goalie in a D3 game ever, is over with 1:22 left in the 4th overtime.

Games like this kind of suck.

Neither team deserves to lose, but obviously someone has to.

Lochner was simply amazing, even though I'm sure he'd rather have won the game than set any records.

Tough night for Justin Lochner and the Auggies. Made nearly 100 saves; and in the end, for naught. Still, one of the greatest performances that I've ever seen.

Also, tough night for Daniel McIntosh. First, his Northland team gets knocked out of the playoffs. Now, he loses his seemingly insurmountable "Most Saves" record.

I'd like to chime in referee wise. Everett and Murphy are just plain awful. Rationally, I don't like St. Louis(es) but they both call a horrible game both ways. It seems the former two show some sort of bias during the game. In the offseason I think the ECAC/NCAA needs to direct some referees to grow some gonads and stop allowing their partners to make all the calls in the game. I mean c'mon, skate over and tell your ref partner that they don't know what they hell they're calling.
