Saturday 2/27/10 Scores -- Playoffs?!?! (or finishing it out)

Re: Saturday 2/27/10 Scores -- Playoffs?!?! (or finishing it out)

St Thomas has 18 seconds left on the power play as we head to overtime.

All 3 MIAC games have gone to overtime, crazy

edit: shots are 44-27 Hamline

St Thomas just misses an open net on a 3x2, then Hamline foes down with their own 3x2 but are offsides

Re: Saturday 2/27/10 Scores -- Playoffs?!?! (or finishing it out)

5-4 St thomas

right after Hamline had the puck jump their stick with the St Thomas goalie down

what a game!

Re: Saturday 2/27/10 Scores -- Playoffs?!?! (or finishing it out)

ECAC Northeast update:

#2 Curry with a 13-2 beatdown over #7 WNEC.

#1 Wentworth somehow gave up seven goals to #8 Salve Regina (who entered this game with a 1-23-1 record. But it's okay, because they scored ten goals. (Also, Justin Marriott's line of 11 saves on 18 shots has to be the worst performance I've ever seen by a winning goaltender.) (Box score)

The other games (#5 Nichols/#4 Becker and #6 Johnson & Wales/#3 Suffolk) will happen tomorrow.

Also; outside the CCCP.

Gustavus Adolphus and Augsburg will play a 2nd Overtime (Tied at 5)

From the MCHA:

Lawrence 5
Northland 3

Lawrence has ended Northland's season and will play in next weekend's MCHA semis at Arrington Ice Arena in Adrian. Opponent yet to be determined.

EDIT: Upon further review, it looks like Lawrence will play Adrian next Friday night, as they are the lowest remaining seed, and Marian will draw the winner of the Lake Forest-MSOE series.

Re: Saturday 2/27/10 Scores -- Playoffs?!?! (or finishing it out)

Salve Regena scored 19 seconds into the game. I cannot believe they scored seven goals on eighteen shots. Why wouln't Wentworth substitute goaltenders?

Re: Saturday 2/27/10 Scores -- Playoffs?!?! (or finishing it out)

From the MCHA:

Lake Forest 7
MSOE 6
FINAL - OT

Game 2 is tomorrow.

Re: Saturday 2/27/10 Scores -- Playoffs?!?! (or finishing it out)

Gusties and Auggies going to OT #3. Augsburg has already played 10 periods the past two days.

And if anybody wants to pass along to the Gusties announcers hand passes are allowed in your own defensive zone, that would be awesome.

Re: Saturday 2/27/10 Scores -- Playoffs?!?! (or finishing it out)

It has been some incredible game in Saint Peter.

Justin Lochner has been insane for the Auggies, with 67 saves on 72 shots. And he went 39/41 in 89:40 of hockey last night.

Can't forget that Josh Swartout has been strong for the Gusties as well. 39 saves in the 100 minutes that they've played.

If you want to watch, the link is here.

From the NCAA record book...

All-division record:

141:35—Yale (3) vs. Union (N.Y.) (2) (5 OT), March 4, 2006

This stinks. I would have loved to see the end of the game, but my kids won't sleep in tomorrow for me.

Re: Saturday 2/27/10 Scores -- Playoffs?!?! (or finishing it out)

If I'd left Hamline immediately after the game to head to St. Peter, I'd be getting there in about 10 minutes....

And this game started earlier. Just crazy...
