I see things like what is happening on PSUs campus and I wonder about my own sanity. I mean I get ill watching Notre Dame football when they **** away wins. I got choked up while the National Anthem was played at the first game at Notre Dame's new arena. When the Phils won in 2008 I was so overwhelmed with emotion I couldn't speak for 5 minutes. And all over sports??? What the fark is wrong with me?

Reported. There may be others that have been swept under the rug. But the RC scandal was (unfortunately) world wide. This is just a single town.

Right on. Let's face it, as inconsequential as sports are in the grand scheme of thing, they're still a huge part of everyday life for many people. It's a release for us. While sports certainly divide people, they also have a great way of bringing together a lot of people.

They get us through the day and it's big business. That combination stirs a heck of a lot of emotion.

Don't give them any ideas. As much as that would be awesome, that would just make things much, much worse.
