Russian Invasion of Ukraine

It's a lot easier to have your undertrained, poorly equipped conscripts play defense, which is all the Russians have to do.

Sweet. 4 mergers later, the one pension I have (scheduled to pay me literally tens of dollars per week when I retire!) is now owned by Raytheon. After each merger, the new company inevitably asks me to cash out so they don’t have to pay the overhead on my piddling little account. Sure enough, Raytheon’s letter arrived just yesterday. I always say no - since I no longer work there, by definition I work for a competitor, so I’m going to make them administer that baby until I die. Sorry, Kep - if Raytheon’s lagging stock forces you to put off that move to AZ by a month or two, now you know why. :-D

AFAIK, RTN moved all its pensions to Alight. That's who is doing mine.

Alight is the Aon HR division they sold to Blackstone.

Aon sucks because everybody smart died in 9/11. Only the execs survived.
 
I have been watching this guy for a few days and I recommend him. Extremely detailed battle reports. After a few weeks we will be able to evaluate whether this is real analysis or just silliness.

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the chief of private military group Wagner, has vowed to retaliate after accusing Russia’s military leadership of killing a “huge amount” of his forces in strikes – prompting Russia’s domestic intelligence service to open a criminal case against him.

In a series of Telegram posts on Friday, Prigozhin – who has frequently criticized Russia’s traditional military hierarchy – accused them of “trying to deprive us of the opportunity to defend our homes and instead hunt down Wagner PMC.”

He said his forces were “ready to compromise with the Ministry of Defense to hand over our weapons and find a solution how we will continue to defend our country. But these scumbags did not calm down,” adding that “they saw that we weren’t broken and they launched strikes on our camps.’

Whatever else comes of this internal Russian split, it's put Prigozhin on record debunking the lies about why the invasion of Ukraine happened:
''The Armed Forces of Ukraine were not going to attack Russia with the NATO bloc,” he said.

Somehow I don't think mercenary nuclear power is much better than the facist one, but I could be wrong.
 
No but they wont have the strength to rule either. They will stop the war though before Russia descends into total civil war...

BTW this sounds like the background story to the film Crimson Tide!
