RPI vs AIC 10/24/09

Re: RPI vs AIC 10/24/09

I just made a last minute decision to drive up to Troy tonight.
I will be near the Engineers in the NHL display during both intermissions.
I'll be wearing a black Rensselaer Swimming and Diving hoodie.
If you see me, say hello.

LETS GO RED!!!!!!!

Re: RPI vs AIC 10/24/09

I was talking to my cousin who was at the union v aic game last night and he told me that AIC was physical ant their goalie was pretty good. Tonight may not be the blowout we are hoping for.
GO RPI!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: RPI vs AIC 10/24/09

Some shuffling of lines. Smith in and Vassel out. An all-freshman line, which I figured we would eventually see. It looks like York will be in net.

RPI lines
Lee, Angers-Goulet, Malchuk
O'Grady, D'Amigo, Pirri
Rabbani, Cullen, Polacek
Smith, Helfrich, Kerins

Defense
Kennedy, Merth
Brutlag, Burgdoerfer
Bergin, Foss

Goal
York
Merriam
Harkenrider

I dont really like splitting up Helfrich and Polacek-but then again-what do I know?

It has been quite some time since we really blew out anyone-a nice 4-1 comfortable victory would serve me just fine. I would just like to see a solid effort on both offense and defense without a third period let up.

We got what we were looking for during the recruit thread from last year: Two amigos and a D'Amigo.

I agree. I suspect that SA wants to get 4 lines that can put continuous pressure. I don't think that we have the depth this year to do that. My main problem, however, is it means that the power play takes people from several lines causing problems with rest.

On Sidearmstats, they list York starting in goal on the Game Summary page. But, if you look at the play-by-play window, they list Merriam in goal. Clicking over to the Individual Stats screen and selecting goalies, Merriam is listed.

I don't like it either, they play hockey like spaghetti and meatballs. Of course I also thought Scott Halpern should remain with them, but we aren't doing too badly. Can't wait to hear about AAG-CJ-Joel.

Mice with restless arm raising are Cooke and Dell. Dunno about the ones who put their arms out from their sides.

Re: RPI vs AIC 10/24/09

WRPI's playing a pre-game interview with Appert - he sounds even more upset about the 3rd period than he did in last night's post-game interview. Understandable, of course.
