RPI V: Chase for the Championship (and Hobey)

Re: RPI V: Chase for the Championship (and Hobey)

All is quiet on the homefront in anticipation of this weekends series. The team is putting final touches on what Im sure was a good week of practice, Coach Appert is handling the always tough Kenny Schott and Rodger Wyland on the radio ;), the home fans are getting ready to yell and cheer for the team. In other words its playoff hockey time in Troy LETS GET IT ON!!!

Re: RPI V: Chase for the Championship (and Hobey)

I don't see a podcast up of the radio show with Ken Schott yet, only bouncyball clips.

Here's the recap which I posted on the series thread:

"...Appert's appearance on Schott's radio segment this a.m. wasn't all that revealing. York looks good / feels good. Chase is good. We need to out hit Brown, use our speed in transition, gets pucks and bodies to the net...yadda yadda...:D "

TUC officials have decided they need to heighten security measures - think post 9/11 - and will begin doing random scanning and pat downs - to folks entering the building...starting with the MAAC hoop tourney that is underway. This is apparent a result of stabbing at a recent H.S. hoop game, as well as an NCAA edict to hold secure, safer events.

Yeah, because hockey fans are of the weapon-carrying variety.

In my youth I did sneak MANY cans of beer into the TUC for a few East Regional games. One particularly memorable event was when we were annointed UW fans for a day...they seemed to like our beverages...:D

Only 25 hours to get your picks into the ECAC Pick The Playoffs. Remember, 7PM on Friday is the deadline. We have 61 contestants so far, 32 shy of last years total.

I'm holding out until the last moment...letting the picks "speak" to me...:D

Re: RPI V: Chase for the Championship (and Hobey)

They'll be available live on Ustream (in medium quality), and they may be available on rpitv.org (in high quality) if you have an @rpi.edu or an @alum.rpi.edu email address.

We're still working on the implementation details, but we're coming close to offering "legit" free streaming to some of our fans.

Naturally, everyone will be able to watch the games again on rpitv.org by around 2:00 AM after the game.

There's now a sign-in on the site, I assume?

Also, I noticed that some of the older games have not been placed onto the new site but were available with the old one. Namely the Sacred Heart game; I like to re-watch the softest goal of the year. :D

Yeah, there's currently an RCS ID sign-in, but we're working on an alternate authentication method to allow Alums to watch. Hopefully it'll be ready by 7:00 =)

That's interesting, possibly an oversight. I'll look in to where the Sacred Heart and Army files are. Sacred Heart is still viewable here if you've really got the urge!

Re: RPI V: Chase for the Championship (and Hobey)

Looking forward to being able to watch along with lots of other RPI fans. Let's Go Red!!!

As an Alum-sure hope you can get this going before 7 PM tonight-if not would be quite content with Ustream feed. Greatly appreciate your efforts with these broadcasts.
