RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/26, 2/27)

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/26, 2/27)

Sorry if it's already been covered here, but Cornell will be honoring Ned Harkness and the '70 Championship team on Saturday night...no coincidence that RPI happens to be in town.

It sure would be nice if RPI could channel Old Ned's shin-kicking mentality and take it to Cornell ...ruin the party BOYS ! :D

Shin kicking? Yes-but Ned used everything at his disposal to win-the ice, the lighting, the refs, the doors to the fieldhouse, etc. If he could find an edge to use, he would do it. ;)

For those making the trip. Storm warning ends at noon here in central NY. 1-2 inches of snow predicted for the rest of the day, but windy. Sun is out and 34 degrees right now !

Shabby - knowing the perils of the Rte. 20/ Cherry Valley subclimate, I'm wondering if the Thruway is a better bet today? How much snow did you get? Still snowing?

Exactly my point..hopefully we can channel some of that magic !

I'm a little north...30 miles but it's sunny and 39 degrees here ! Rome NY...hasn't snowed here since 5-6 am.
Albany to Utica is 90 miles then 30 miles to hamilton..120 total. Rte 20 is 90 miles to Hamilton....I don't know how rte 20 is today.....pretty sure the thruway would be fine though .

The roads should be fine by now; at least in Syracuse, the sun was out, and a lot of the snow was slush. Route 20 should be fine, just watch the speed traps around Richfield Springs. :D

Thanks. I know the terrain all too well...memories of driving a team van in college, in excess of the posted limit... a State Trooper... its all coming back to me now ! :D

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/26, 2/27)

We get stuck with Kotyra for the weekend.
I think he's employed by Cornell.

If so we should withhold his checks. He has few friends among the Lynah Faithful. :p

Everyone traveling be careful. I've slid off the Central NY roads enough times to know it's a treacherous trip (though, of course, completely worth it).

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/26, 2/27)

On 90W now...Seems pretty clear so far...Only 175 miles to go! I meant to ask...Any other Union fans going to Lynah tonight? CDS!

Tell me about it, I-81 south gets pretty bad in the winter, and I only have to drive an hour for each game! Hopefully NY 92 does me well.

And while we're on that topic, does ANYONE like Kotyra? Heck after the Clarkson game we had a few choice words for him and Zelasko, so you'll probably have the favorable hand with him.

We get Kotyra twice this weekend:eek: I have my valium ready to take before each of these games. He has rapidly ascended on my list of all time non-favorites among refs.(but he has a long way to go to catch Mike Noeth:) )

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/26, 2/27)

Good game last night between two very evenly matched teams. I thought York was still hurting. He looked like he couldn't move very well laterally at all !!!
