RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

Come on. You need to ask an 11th place team to roll over in order to win a meaningless trophy?

Thought you guys had more gumption than that.

As an aside, it's not really so much that I hate Union as much as I love watching their most lame fans make fools of themselves.

How am I lame? How am I a fool? You talk a big game, like all bullies do, but you can't back it up with facts.....

Hate Union all you want, but if you want to talk smack and insult my school or me, I will call you out......

Your logic about playoff success is somewhat on target. Union has yet to win big games in the playoffs and that is a huge monkey on the program's back....

However, you talk about the past successes for your program and conveniently ignore what little has been accomplished recently.....

Furthermore, you whine about your rivals and attempt to insult and bully them to help with your own insecurities....

You're starting to sound like a UND fan......Don't be that guy.....

Keith.

You didn't win the last time we played you on senior night. ;)
You were 10-9-3 in conference that year, compared to 6-12-3 right now. But then again, a lot of things could happen on the ice today.

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

Don't look now, but Cornell has already managed to lose to a team worse than RPI this year....

Brown was on away ice during the first road trip of the year, the other was the first NCAA game of the season.

Pretty self-centered, aren't you? I wasn't talking about you.

You talk a big game, like all bullies do, but you can't back it up with facts.....

Facts? What facts?

Hate Union all you want, but if you want to talk smack and insult my school or me, I will call you out......

Oooh. There's something that'll keep me up at night. You have no problem talking smack on RPI, but HOOBOY WATCHOUT if someone "insults your school."

For the record, Union is incapable of being insulted.

Your logic about playoff success is somewhat on target. Union has yet to win big games in the playoffs and that is a huge monkey on the program's back....

You mean I was using facts? Hmm. That seems to blow a hole in your other argument.

However, you talk about the past successes for your program and conveniently ignore what little has been accomplished recently.....

Where have I talked about the past successes for my program? Boy, you really are grasping at straws. Maybe you are obsessed.

Furthermore, you whine about your rivals and attempt to insult and bully them to help with your own insecurities....

Whine? Ha. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself, sweetheart.

And you aren't the first unfortunate soul to accuse me of being a bully. Did I hurt your feelings or something? Sheesh.

You're starting to sound like a UND fan......Don't be that guy.....

I'd be honored.

Mercyhurst is also about 10 places higher in RPI than either Rensselaer or Brown

Exactly-the only thing that will matter is the RPI team that shows up on 2/25/12. I have followed this team for so many years-and I still cannot tell from day to day or game to game what they will do. Kepler's Law in reference to RPI holds true. Never bet for or against RPI under any condition. Just when you think they are unbeatable and a prohibitive favorite-they throw in a real stinker. And of course the reverse has also been true.

Awesome win for Union and a totally unexpected effort from RPI on the final night of the ECAC regular season.....

I pity the team that has to face RPI in the first round...I think they have found the groove......

I never would have guessed that Union would win, Cornell would lose and we would defend the Cleary cup as outright regular season champs......

Big props to the CD this blessed night!!!!!!

Keith.

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

I have some slight mixed feeling after tonight. Mostly floating on a high from beating Cornell and the way we did it-getting the goal to tie late, then an OT winner and dominating the OT. Love that we finally swept the central NY teams especially in a year when they are both highly ranked teams. But-as the game progress and went into OT-I was actually for a time hoping for a tie so that we finished tied in the standings with Princeton and would get the 11 seed. I just thought going on the road to Yale would be a better chance of a good match up for us than having to go up to either Clarkson or SLU on the road. It all remains to work itself out because i believe the first round of the playoffs is all about momentum and how well you are playing going into the weekend. I just do not know among the 3 teams we could have played, who is coming iin on a roll and who is hurting. One thing for sure-if winning these last 2 games doesn't make everyone on that RPI team totally euphoric-then they are dead from the neck up.
