RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

Stepped foot in Messa for the first time since the WMU series last night, didnt miss it much but anyway im sure its been mentioned before here but i dont follow these boards much, but that NCAA Championships banner is very deceiving....if you guys ever win a NCAA tile its gonna look pretty stupid having that wording on the banner

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

I admit, I have not. That kinda scares me.

Think what happened to Plattsburgh when it comes to a comparison on those comments. Although I don't know if the town was burgeoning when Griffiss HAD the military there. Oh well, at least there's a casino 10 miles down the road.

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

You're going to win.

EDIT: Great. On the rare occasion that I mention the basketweavers up Route 7, the main reason why I have zero respect for Union as a school shows up and whines. It's like a bat signal. Years later and he's still butthurt over being laughed at for the whole #26 Union thing. Love it.

Wait what’s that? Sorry, I can’t hear you from all the way down there at the bottom of the standings.

So that is why you're signature is in Size 7 type.

Classic case of ***** envy.

Must annoy him to no end that I can still make fun of him and his team despite present circumstances. Aw.

You don't annoy me. In fact, I find you comical. Keep up the good work and enjoy what's left of the rest of your season. :)

I look forward to your PWR breakdown. It's a shame that neither of your teams will be relevant in that discussion.

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

In a cruel twist, I will be going to the Cornell-Union game, but my big sister (Cornell '83) unknowingly secured my tix in Section J. Unlike French Rage, I am not a Section J kind of guy. Anyone want to trade for four tix in "O"?

Bringing Mrs. Chef, older son (now 15), younger son and the flag. Hard to belive the older boy has been going to Union games for more than 2/3 his life. For those who knew him at Union, he is now 5'9, 175 lb defenseman with a nose for assists (leads youth team) and roughing calls (leads team in penalty minutes as well). My garage door has suffered mightily from his practice shots...

Section J is fairly sedate, your crew should do just fine there. Very few students and at the opposite end of the rink from the Cornell band. You are in Union's offensive end for two of the three periods. Personally I hope it is very quiet in that end in periods one and three.

That's "Mister Basket-weaver" to you.....Union has its share of "gut" courses I admit, but RPI has plenty as well...

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

Not certain that's going to be a major issue.

You have to be actually in the NCAA Tourney to have a shot at winning it...

So far, RPI isn't eligible unless they win the ECAC's, so shut it down........

Otherwise, great effort against the 'Gate tonight. I think the "nothing to lose" attitude may have filtered into the line-up, especially at the "G" position......

I know this is self-serving, but if you keep up the winning streak, you guys could be last year's 'Gate team and mow everyone down in the Tourney on the way to AC......

Good luck tomorrow.....

Keith.

Who's talking about RPI? Hey, UHR, is this guy obsessed or something? I mean, you're the expert.

I love how, despite your school's utter lack of anything resembling success in playoffs of any kind at any time, this is the attitude that pops up.

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

Hey Red Cloud, since you guys hate Union so much, how about you just roll over and let us pot a few goals tonight to deny them first place?

Thanks,

Lynah Faithful

Come on. You need to ask an 11th place team to roll over in order to win a meaningless trophy?

Thought you guys had more gumption than that.

As an aside, it's not really so much that I hate Union as much as I love watching their most lame fans make fools of themselves.

All very true-and having been in the tournament only 9 times over the years, with very few appearances lately, we know only too well what our chances are. One thing you can count on-RPI will not coast at Ithaca tonight. They will be doing everything they can to win that game-even if it does mean helping a rival. Union has done everything necessary to be one of the top 2 teams in the ECAC except beat the team they had to knock off for the top position. Maybe we can do that for you. Good luck to you guys also-I love when the CD can go out to central NY or the North Country. and have a successful weekend trip.

Since you guys hold the head to head advantage with Union this year-you deserve to be in first place. However, I sincerely hope you have to work hard for it tonight and perhaps end up backing in with some help from Colgate. That scenario would be just fine with me.;)

Its senior night in Ithaca, don't think the team will let down at all. Thank God we have a bye after a weekend of emotional games.
