RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

Alternate option: The roof at Lynah finally collapses under the extreme weight of all the bull****, forcing Saturday's game to be played in Syracuse or something.

The Crunch are away that night (at home on Friday), so it's a possibility. I'd prefer it, as I'd only have to drive 10 minutes instead of an hour. :D

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

Just to touch on something from earlier in the thread:

Depends why they end up tied. If Cornell to beats Union Friday and then they both have the same result on Saturday, Cornell would win based on the first tiebreaker (H2H) because they tied the first meeting. If Cornell/Union tie on Friday and then Cornell wins and Union loses on Saturday, I'm pretty sure that Union would have the tiebreaker on Cornell - Cornell has not done that well against the top 4, highlighted by the sweep by Colgate.

If Union and Cornell tie Friday night, Union takes the #1 seed. The second tiebreaker is league wins, and Union currently has two more than Cornell, so the Dutchmen would take that one.

Re: RPI & Union @ Colgate & Cornell (2/24, 2/25)

In a cruel twist, I will be going to the Cornell-Union game, but my big sister (Cornell '83) unknowingly secured my tix in Section J. Unlike French Rage, I am not a Section J kind of guy. Anyone want to trade for four tix in "O"?

Bringing Mrs. Chef, older son (now 15), younger son and the flag. Hard to belive the older boy has been going to Union games for more than 2/3 his life. For those who knew him at Union, he is now 5'9, 175 lb defenseman with a nose for assists (leads youth team) and roughing calls (leads team in penalty minutes as well). My garage door has suffered mightily from his practice shots...

weekend officials (RPI's games) OFFICIALS: Friday’s officials are Mike Baker and Tim Kotyra (referees) and Ken- neth Gates and Andy Petrus (linesmen) ... Saturday night’s referees are Peter Feola and John Murphy ... The linesmen are Matt Brady and Nick Demarte Jr.

Are you kidding me?! Sub out Hicks for Feola and you have the worst weekend of refs in (my admittedly short) memory.

Oh, that's what passes for fun in Rome. Caring about Union.

You seem to mention Union in a good portion of your posts so you shouldn't be one to talk.

Doesn't get any better than this for the last weekend of the regular season. Cleary Cup on the line. Top 3 teams all in action this weekend in Central NY. And that other team is playing too. Should be exciting.

The only thing worse than drawing Kotyra and Murphy in the two separate games-would be drawing them together for both games.:( This will not be fun. But it could be worse-we could have them in the playoffs starting next week.

OK, we're not going to win either of these games.

Baker is just as bad. These games are going to SUCK.

I will if we win!

You're going to win.

EDIT: Great. On the rare occasion that I mention the basketweavers up Route 7, the main reason why I have zero respect for Union as a school shows up and whines. It's like a bat signal. Years later and he's still butthurt over being laughed at for the whole #26 Union thing. Love it.
