Jack DeCloe played for them, but he was '72. There could have been someone earlier.

How do you do that? An answer to a question that goes back to the sixties in under 5 minutes.
You must have some data base.

I couldn't be more impressed.

Some things I remember. He was in a calculus course that I taught when I was a grad student.

Its been rather quiet on here as far as new names & targets go what gives? Maybe the big push for the 2011 class is going to be wined & dined in the coming weeks with the stretch drive and more showcase home games. Its a Little strange that no target names have popped up here.

Information usually only becomes public when someone reports seeing an RPI coach scouting a game, or when media reports a players "receiving interest from RPI and..." or when a recruit is spotted in town on a visit to RPI. If none of this sees the light of day, then its hard to know what our short list looks like.

Otherwise, some folks know things that we're told in confidence and aren't at liberty to share publicly...nuff said.:p

So we need your help -- start growing your contacts and start running some Google searches. :D

Does this mean I should drive up to Cornwall for juniors games on the off chance I see a coach there? :D

If you like, but you might be better off other places. :) Seriously, the easiest thing is to watch in the HFH for who is with the players.

I suspect that Babo will know when her son is at RPI, and perhaps earlier, who else we are recruiting. I doubt she will post anything, but info in confidence is possible.

There is info on the internet, but it is difficult to find. IIRC, I found out about Koudys that way.

I distinctly recall seeing either a jersey or a jacket from the Dixie Bees in my last year at RPI (65-66) visiting as a potential recruit or someone already recruited. I remember only because the varsity team was so awesome that year:rolleyes: and was looking at anyone who was coming for the next year.

That would be the Class of 1970. I don't think that any of the players who played on the varsity were from Dixie. (I don't recall where Doug Chisholm played.) There were a couple of other Canadians on the freshman team in 66-67 who may have played for Dixie.

I know this old news and all but the Curadi burger looks like a monster...just wait until Luke catches wind of places like Famous Lunch, Hot Dog Charlies and Gus's. I smell a Man vs. Food type battle and we can name it the Curadi Challenge.

Actually, and this is kind of sad, I think the drive to Cornwall is about the same as my drive to HFH. And unfortunately, there are usually too many people at HFH for me to distinguish who is a recruit; let's just say there are some that are better at picking people out of a crowd.

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

Im horrible at picking out who is a recruit and who is just a kid wearing a team jacket trying to impress the college girls. But I always try to take a look over behind the RPI bench in the walkway above it to see if I can find a possible recruit. Usually there are a few at the Freakout and Clarkson games. Because nothing seals the deal like the Freakout.

It's easy at RPI, seeing as how girls are few and far to come by. :D

As Ralph has pointed out in the past, recruits nowadays are just as likely to not being wearing team jackets or hats, unless they are attending the game with their team as they are in town playing the Selects or AA. Sometimes yes, but quite often the kids are not wearing team gear.

Sometimes its just luck - I recall spotting the Tinordi brothers in Troy after recognizing their father from his NHL days. Some guys like Grimshaw and more recently, Stevens and especially Curadi are hard to miss due to their god given size. :D
