Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

On Friday, the Orangeville Crushers lost to the Dixie BeeHives 6-5. Nick Quinn had a slashing penalty. http://cchl.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=1090131

Quinn's Orangeville line is 24-5-6-11-18.
His total line is now 34-7-13-20-24.
Dr. Baer: Something has been bugging me. How does a team playing in Etobicoke, Ontario wind up being named the Dixie Beehives? Sounds like a AA baseball team...:p Displaced southern owner? :D

Dixie is a neighborhood in Mississauga. That isn't far from Etobicoke, They apparently moved but kept their name, just like the New York Giants in football.

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

Its been rather quiet on here as far as new names & targets go what gives? Maybe the big push for the 2011 class is going to be wined & dined in the coming weeks with the stretch drive and more showcase home games. Its a Little strange that no target names have popped up here.

The name Dixie Beehives must be around a long time-I think I recall seeing their jersey on a player or recruit at the RPI fieldhouse in the early 60's:eek:

Jack DeCloe played for them, but he was '72. There could have been someone earlier.
