On Thursday, the Indiana Ice defeated the Chicago Steel 5-3. Nick Bailen had a power play goal and an assist. He was named #2 star. He is now tied for the Ice's leading scorer. http://www.pointstreak.com/stats/pro/boxscore.html?gameid=1048967

Bailen's line is now 27-5-14-19-40.
That's impressive from the blue line. His output jives with what T-Bone had told me. His buddy is a BG alum and hockey nut and was stunned when Bailen left -- his says Nick was by far their best player. The thing I like best is that he'll be a plug-in player for us next season...no freshman learning curve.

Bailen was concerned about the possibility of BG shutting down their program. Another thing good about him is that he will help a bit in evening out the classes on defense because he will be a soph when he shows up.

Yup. Too bad the BG situation had deteriorated to that point he felt compelled to go...although I'm glad he's ours now! :D

On Saturday, the CJHL Prospects team defeated the CCHL Prospects team 6-3 in the Battle of Ontario. Neither Nick Quinn nor Patrick Koudys, both on the CCHL team, had any points or penalties. RPI target Eric Ming, playing for the CJHL, had two assists. http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=1180290

The All Star version of the Battle of Ontario (older players), featuring Jacob Laliberté, will be played this evening.

His name came up in conversation again this past week. I was told that he will also be a PP QB type player, so that will be an added bonus.

He is the leading PP scorer on Indiana (and it's where he's recorded over half his points).

Last night the Fargo Force defeated the USA Under 18's 4-3. Rumored/speculated/scuttlebutted RPI target Grant Scott had no points for Fargo. :p :D

The Colts radio broadcast just reported JL is out with an upper body injury suffered during the Colts game against Kemptville last Wednesday. Carr was also injured in that game and is out with a lower body injury.
