I am going to change JK from a 2023 arrival to 2024.

Edit: Sezenack commented that he was surprised that JK was going to the BCHL when he could play in the USHL, and added that this was also a good spot. I agree with that. I wonder if Coach Smith is steering recruits to western Canada. Perhaps he figures that there will be fewer scouts from other teams there than in the USHL trying to poach.

I don't think it has been posted before, but Ryan Shaw is also headed to the BCHL next year. Chris Heisenberg shows him going to Nanaimo.

There's definitely plenty of scouts in Canada looking at the BCHL, so I don't think that's why. It seems like we have a good relationship with the WK Warriors. Ardanaz & Evans last year, Caron & Hilditch this year. Maybe that played a role. Also possible that JK just would prefer to be guaranteed top 6 minutes in the BCHL whereas he'd really have to fight to get those in the USHL.

This isn't a case closed thing either. There's been plenty of players who have tendered in the BCHL who USHL teams can convince to play for them instead

I keep forgetting that Ardanaz and Evans played there since I didn't follow them during the season. It is interesting that we get mainly recruits from very good to great teams -- Ziliotto sticking out like a sore thumb.

I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.
