Wednesday’s game(s)

Kyrkostas not much expected
Hanscom & Shaw not much expected

I will post the summary(ies) whenever. : eek :

Does anyone know if hunter Wallace decomitted? Heisenberg still has him coming next year. Along with hotson he’s by far our best recruit next year.

When did we stop recruiting in the ushl? Kinda bizarre given it’s the best junior league in the world. We have 1 recruit ushl and 37 recruits in the ajhl?

He is out, but I am waiting to see something official. I can't say what I learned about his situation. I really should stop following him anyway.

He did remove RPI from his twitter account.

The percentage of recruits we get from the USHL has been going down for many years.

And the only one we have is among the league leaders.

I suspected he was. I wonder if we will see one of the younger guys in New England prep hockey coming a year early? Shaw and krystotas look solid

They would both benefit from a year in Juniors, but it is possible. The transfer portal situation means that Coach Smith probably has not made this type of decision yet.

BYW, I have Kyrkostas as coming next season and Shaw not until 2025. In recent years, I have not spent a lot of effort on determining years. I do think that all of the recruits (except Wallace) who were born in 2003 are coming in the fall.

Agreed the portal makes things more complicated.

2015? Where have I been?

Jackson Kyrkostas will be at West Kelowna next year. https://twitter.com/BCHLWarriors/sta...92139895463936 That surprises me a bit since he lives in NH, but Felix Caron lives in Quebec which although in Canada isn't near West Kelowna either.

Thanks to sezenack whose retweet I saw a minute before I saw West Kelowna's.

https://www.westkelownawarriors.ca/n...2023-24-season
Kyrkostas, 18, currently is playing his hockey with Kimball Union Academy in the United States Prep Hockey circuit where the Windham, New Hampshire native ranks 8[SUP]th[/SUP] in Prep Hockey with 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points in 21 games this season. Kyrkostas is captaining the team this season and has committed to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), a school where current Warriors Felix Caron and Landen Hilditch are committed to.

“I’m super excited for the opportunity to play for such an established organization with a great staff and players” commented Kyrkostas.

I am going to change JK from a 2023 arrival to 2024.

Edit: Sezenack commented that he was surprised that JK was going to the BCHL when he could play in the USHL, and added that this was also a good spot. I agree with that. I wonder if Coach Smith is steering recruits to western Canada. Perhaps he figures that there will be fewer scouts from other teams there than in the USHL trying to poach.
