RPI Recruit Thread 2020-21

Thanks for the post RB - love that kind of news. I have looked over many of the potential recruit lists and we seem to compare quite favorably as to size with most schools. I like to see that because I have little knowledge about comparing talent levels.

I agree that a good big player is better than a good small player, but there has to be some talent there. Smith does seem, in general, to be going for big players.

On Friday, the Salmon Arm Silverbacks lost to the West Kelowna Warriors 3-2 in a preseason game. Danny Ciccarello scored a goal. Zach Dubinsky had a roughing penalty. https://bchl.ca/stats/game-center/9886

Ciccarello's preseason line is 11-5-1-6-6.
Dubinsky's preseason line is now 1-0-0-0-2.
FWIW, ZD was listed as playing on the 1st line although he did not start. He’s also listed as an inch taller than at RPI. It’s the BC climate. ;-)

With no-body contact being allowed this year, his size won't help him much. https://thejuniorhockeynews.com/ojhl-approved-for-dramatically-changed-pre-season-play/

That is, unless he plays for our women's team. ;-)

Agree totally - i still would take a small guy like Martin St. Louis on my team at any time. A small forward can be the exception that breaks my rule. As a kid I always rooted for Camille ("the eel") Henry when he played for the Rangers in NY. But defensemen just need to have to be able to do so many things well that involve strength, reach, and of course skating backwards. rarely do you find any that are size challenged. Our coach does seem to be bringing in some bigger D men for sure.

Sure. There is even room for a small D like Babichuk.

The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.

STRENGTHS according to Neutral Zone (NZ doesn't include them for women and goalies):
Aw=Awareness/IQ, Ch= Character/Leadership, GS=Goal Scoring Ability, Sk=Skating, Sp=Speed, SH=Stick Handling Skill,
