That's Jack Brackett (43) making pizza in the lower right.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2019-20

Sorry for the pessimism but the numerous decommits have not exactly inspired hope in our recruiting efforts. It seems like we have no issues identifying talent and under-the-radar players, but we have not been keeping them once they breakout. See Fontaine and Sarlo as two recent examples.

We have to start winning to get the better players to stick. The other possibility is to identify players who want to be engineers with a lower-case E like Joe Juneau. For some reason we have been moving away from that recently. We will always be mainly management majors, but a few majoring in technical subjects was always the norm in the past.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2019-20

I don’t follow this thread as closely as I should, but if Sarlo decommitted why is he still listed on Ralph’s summary???

He has not decommitted yet as far as I know. It was tweeted by someone with inside information that he is looking to go elsewhere. See post 63 on this thread. Until he has actually committed elsewhere, I will continue to follow him.

Totally agree RB....also the coaching turnover doesn't help

I assume you mean the AC's. I agree, but it happens to all programs. As several have posted, both here and the other thread, most players pay more attention to the HC in this regard.

I agree with this. I was beside myself when I learned the Clifton brothers were Mechanical Engineering majors at Quinnipiac - a school that didn't even offer an engineering curriculum until 2013 and didn't have a school of engineering until 2016. I don't know if we were ever in on them, but it would be disappointing to hear of guys playing high level junior hockey with an desire to major in engineering that our staff isn't at least in contact with to gauge their interest.

Has Smith brought in a single engineering recruit? I know Marshall is majoring in engineering, but, IIRC, he was a Seth recruit that decided to fulfill his commitment. I still think he has a lot of potential, and I wonder if it was precisely because of the engineering opportunities that he chose to enroll and stay on despite the program, and Linden individually, having some tough times. I love Savory, but it would really make me happy for Linden to earn his way on the ice and achieve some big moments over his last two seasons in Troy.

the only Smith recruit currently on the team who is not a management major is Bowman who is an industrial and management engineering major. I think that there was another who left. Yes, Marshall was an Appert recruit,.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2019-20

The Omaha Lancers (Davies) play the Topeka Pilots of the NAHL today. I will eventually post any tweets and info from Finish Your Check which mention Davies. That may only be a lineup if even that. Because it is an interleague game, neither league decided to list it. (The MJHL posted Winkler's games vs. an SIJHL team.)

FWIW, A quick scan of the Clarkson roster shows two engineering majors I think... so they aren't lighting the world on fire in engineering numbers either. But I do agree that it is preferable to have a good mix of math/science guys on the squad.

And Union has 5 engineering students and 3 of them are freshman.

https://nahl.com/game-center/#/roster/19/190?specialteams=false&league=1 Amarillo (Udd Hellgren)
https://nahl.com/game-center/#/roster/3/190?specialteams=false&league=1 Austin (Brooks, even though unlikely)

Looks like they only have rosters posted up until Corpus Christi. Change https to http for the NAHL

Looks like the NAHL has switched Brooks' commitment back to WMU, so they must've read this thread hahaha In any event, you can remove him.

The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they tweet them with committals.

Topeka won 3-2 (1-0) in a shootout. Davies was not mentioned in any tweets except the lineup. OTOH, only one goal scorer was mentioned.
