On Sunday, Team Navy lost to Team Grey in the Boys Select 17 Tourney 11-1. :eek: Max Itagaki had no points or penalties. https://teamusa.usahockey.com/tourn...mes/5d090f3706e5993e423df46e?referrer=4718145

Itagaki’s Select 17 line is 5-0-2-2-0.

This was Navy's last game.

I will check when I return from bike riding if either recruit made and played in the All-Star game, but I suspect they did not.

On the one hand, Itagaki's a mid-'02 so he's young and has time to get to the USHL. Perhaps the NAHL will be a good thing for his overall development. On the other hand, NZ has him as a 3.5 star, which is pretty much the default ranking for NAHL players with a certain D1 commit.

No, Turk, my boy's aged out of juniors. I just follow this particular family advisor on Twitter since he reps a lot of FL boys whom I know. The advisor is from the Chicago area, so I suspect that's how his client Itagaki received the Springfield (IL) camp invite. Since the USHL initial protected lists (or whatever they're called) are due any day, Itagaki must not have made one of those rosters or he wouldn't be at Springfield's camp.

I agree that he has time to make the USHL and IMO playing regularly is more important than being in a better league. As Turk wrote, the NAHL is a good league, much improved from over a decade ago.

Any high level coach that I know, whether at the Junior or College level, will tell any kid who wants to move on in hockey that they should play at the highest level that they will get lots of ice time. Playing PP and PK on a top two line in the NAHL is much better for a player's development than playing 3rd or 4th line minutes in the USHL. Every kid develops at different rates. Just keep focused on playing time and working hard and you will keep moving up.

The Chicago Pro Hockey League (Development Division) started play yesterday. As mentioned earlier, Zach Dubinsky and Max Itagaki are both playing. A matter of fact, their teams played each other. (There are only four teams, so there was a 1/3 chance. :D) Box scores have not yet been posted. They have a week to do so until the next game. :) I will keep checking.

On Wednesday, Team Constructive Renovations lost to Team MO2 Properties 11-8 in the Chicago Pro Hockey League (Development Divison). Zach Dubinsky had no points or penalties, assuming that he played. Max Itagaki had 4 goals and 3 assists. (Only 10 goals are currently listed.) https://www.chicagoprohockeyleague.com/schedule-stats/constructive-renovations-vs-mo2-properties (Historically these games have been high scoring.)

Dubinsky’s line is now 1-0-0-0-0.
Itagaki’s line is now 1-4-3-7-0.
