Not uncommon. Many kids will participate in USHL Camps that never play in the U. There are a handful of local kids here who will wear their “USHL” (not Team) jerseys in the local rinks. If you enlarge the ep photo you’ll see RM is wearing his Ridley College (Canadian Prep school) helmet & gloves which leads me to believe the pic was taken probably in 16-17.

I should note that I wasn’t necessarily talking about USHL Camps like those that are taking place now that are “Tryout by Invite Only” (although it could’ve been).............. The United States Hockey League will hold the annual USHL Combines this upcoming spring and summer at the Arctic Ice Arena, in Orland Park, Illinois. During the months prior to the Combines, interested players are encouraged to fill out an online questionnaire to ensure USHL Player Development is aware of your interest in attending. https://www.ushl.com/combine

Beaton has been on the recent CSB lists, but not particularly high. He's the only one who really has a chance. Then again, we have had plays like Reilly drafted who were not expected to be chosen.

Edit: And Kjellberg was drafted last year although the scuttlebutt is that it was a favor to his father who works for the NYR.

Zach Dubinsky (Fay Servicing) and Max Itagaki (Mo2 Properties) are playing in the Development Diviison of the Chicago Pro Hockey League this summer. FWIW, Brandon Pirri is playing in the Pro Division. https://www.chicagoprohockeyleague.com/rosters

Games start on 7/10. I'll post whatever is available. Interestingly, the two RPI recruits play each other the first day.


Edit: Women's recruit Ellie Kaiser is also playing.

The Select 17 Player Development Camp starts on Tuesday, but the first games aren't until Wednesday. Hunter McDonald (Columbia team) and Max Itagaki (Navy team) will be there. https://teamusa.usahockey.com/page/show/4718145-2019-boys-select-17-player-development-camp

I will report on the games.

I expected the Select 16 rosters to have been posted for the camp starting on July 7. Alexander Babich is our only eligible player. I will keep looking for the rosters.
