Great summer in Toronto. Excited to begin this new journey with @RidertownUSA. The trip has begun!
.....know you’ll be keeping us posted through the year, thanks herby. Will you be working the “sin-bin” this year?

He is finally admitting that he was even considering CR. :) The CR players must have been told to keep quiet this year. There are suddenly a lot of players whose tweets are being reposted by the official CR site. https://twitter.com/RidertownUSA/with_replies

Yes I plan on it this year. Should be a good year in CR based on the talent I have seen in the two camps this summer. You better believe I will keep you updated!

Added Meg Hayes of NAHA White to women's list. (It's old news apparently.)

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2015-16

Some blog comments about Austin Cho at Vernon's camp. http://vipersdiehardfan.blogspot.com/2015/08/day-2-report-from-vipers-training-camp.html

Austin Cho impressed me. A big kid on the blueline likes to play physical, solid on the point, is hard to be one on one. Has some good size, looked very good today.

Austin Cho looks very calm and confident on the blueline. Looks like a veteran player out there. I really like this kid.

Coach's comments http://vipersdiehardfan.blogspot.com/2015/08/ferner-high-on-recruits.html

On the back end, Callum Volpe (10G and 44 points with the Major Midget Vancouver Northeast Chiefs), Austin Cho (12G and 64 points with St. Andrew’s College Saints in Auora, Ont.) and Griffin James (8G and 25 points with St. Andrews) will push for jobs.

“Austin is a slick defender who is a smooth, calming player,” said Ferner. “He’ll be a big part of our group, no question. He has a scholarship to RPI for 2017.”

Hmmmm? 2017?

An assist in a scrimmage on Sunday http://vipersdiehardfan.blogspot.com/2015/08/vipers-blue-white-game-team-white-7.html

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2015-16

The upcoming season ends in 2016, and will be named the 2016 national champions. Perhaps that is the context in which the coach meant by 2017.

It could be, but to me to sounds like the 2017-18 season. I just wanted to point out what the coach said.

In any case, as we have found in recent years, players don't necessarily show up when we originally expect them to. If Cho has a reasonable year, I still expect him at RPI a year from now, and I have penciled him in as Chris Bradley's replacement.

I add that Vernon's first preseason game will be tomorrow.

On Friday, the Vernon Vipers lost to the Salmon Arm Silver Silverbacks in an exhibition game 6-1. As is often the case for the preseason, box scores weren't posted. http://www.bchl.ca/leagues/todays_s...&theMonth=08&theYear=2015&refresh=0&link=bchl. Perhaps the Venondieheartfan blog will post something,

The same two teams play on Saturday in Vernon.

The Vipers Fan Blog did a post on the game and listed who was dressed for the Vipers. Austin Cho did not play in the game.

I would assume he'll play tonight then.

That wasn't up when I looked. http://vipersdiehardfan.blogspot.com/2015/08/exhibition-salmon-arm-6-vernon-1.html

I wonder if it is a good or bad sign that he wasn't dressed. I suspect that it is a good sign and that they already know he made the team. I agree that he will play tonight in front of the home crowd.

Although I would have liked him to have played in the USHL, I have to be happy with his loyalty. Hopefully he will show that also at RPI.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2015-16

On Saturday, Vernon Vipers lost to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks 4-3 in overtime. Austin Cho had an assist and apparently no penalties. No box score is available on the BCHL site.

Cho's preseason line is now 1-0-1-1-0.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2015-16

Blog post about the game. http://vipersdiehardfan.blogspot.com/2015/08/exhibition-salmon-arm-4-vernon-3.html

The Backs had the better of the scoring opportunities were firing everything on net didnt play as physical after last night's hard hitting afair. Vernon had the two biggest hits of the period after two monsterous hits by Riley Brandt and Austin Cho.
Tufto skated over the Silverbacks blueline ripped a high shot glove side past Angus Redmond cut the Silverbacks lead to 2-1 at 17:20 Steven Jandric & Austin Cho with the helpers.
A few minutes later Austin Cho setup Tak Anholt on a Vernon two on one but Anholt was robbed by Angus Redmond who made a huge game save keeping this a one goal game.
Austin Cho was another defenceman that I thought played very well. Not the quickest skater but has some size, was physical, steady on the blueline and made some nice offensive plays through out the contest. Jumped up into the play, joined the rush on several occasions.
